Hello. I’m writing this in case it can be even a little helpful to anyone who is mentally having such a hard time like I was.
First of all, I had the removal yesterday. Since I had it done at my original clinic, not a clinic specializing in removal, I’ll keep the clinic name private. It isn’t a removal-specialized clinic, and I also signed an agreement not to mention the clinic on other communities.
Honestly, my situation was much worse than the people who posted reviews here. During the Lunar New Year holiday this year, I got nose surgery even though everyone tried to stop me, and without really researching much, and the result was... disastrous. I feel like I heard every bad comment: why did you do it, it looks strange, it looks like an arrow nose, and so on. My nose before surgery actually wasn’t bad. It was on the higher side, and although it was very slightly short, it didn’t look unattractive. Actually, I had gotten nasal bridge filler about twice? and it had spread, so I was planning to dissolve the filler and only do the bridge. But the consultant and director said my nose was a bit short, and if I extended it, my image would look more refined. I trusted only those words completely and went ahead. Honestly, I blamed myself a lot too for getting surgery recklessly without going around to several consultations.
After surgery, it became excessively high and long, so my impression only looked stronger, and I looked exactly like an old witch... I think that was the hardest time. In the end, I had an early correction on February 16. In my heart, I wanted to lower only the bridge and remove everything from the nasal tip, but the director said the balance would be off that way. They said either remove everything, or lower the silicone and also improve the elongated columella and lower the tip. Since my original purpose was just to slightly raise the bridge, I proceeded with the correction. But what made me angry here was that the director removed the silicone entirely and left only the nasal tip, saying that the shape would probably look better that way. I was angry, but decided to wait for now.
Honestly, the second surgery was okay. Even after removing the splint, I felt like my own face had come back, and like I could finally breathe again. After the first surgery, I actually cried every day, and I, who used to sleep from 9, suffered from insomnia, and my family and boyfriend were also really heartbroken because of me... But this stability didn’t last long either. As the swelling went down, like after the previous surgery, only the nasal tip was high and it gradually drooped, and since the bridge had all been removed, it looked sunken. What I wanted was to raise the nasal bridge, but instead only the nasal tip was high, so my impression changed and it looked strange.
I kept suffering and went back and forth to the clinic several times, and in the end I had it removed yesterday. The clinic told me to wait 6 months, but I kept requesting it, so I signed an agreement saying I wouldn’t mention side effects or the clinic on communities.
Honestly, I wanted to confront them because they had done the opposite of what I wanted, but what meaning would that have? I was suffering so much that all I desperately wanted was to remove everything and get away from this stress...
So yesterday, 37 days after the first surgery, and about 3 weeks? after the early correction, I had it removed. Maybe because it was done during the most dangerous period, this surgery was so scary, and as soon as I woke up from anesthesia, I held my mom’s hand and cried, saying I was sorry. It’s still day 2, so I have tape on, but when I take photos from this angle and that angle, it looks similar to before haha.
It seems like there are many people who are stressed and struggling like I was, and I hope you can gain even a little hope from my post! Because I was anxious, I asked the director and nurse a lot of questions before going into surgery. They said contracture almost 99.9% does not happen if there was no inflammation, and that the septal cartilage will not collapse unless an excessive amount was harvested.
I missed the early correction timing and would have had to wait 6 months under stress, so I accepted the risk and proceeded, and I think the result is okay. I had lost almost 5 kg because I was struggling so much, but now I’m eating well too. If things get better, I’ll leave updates from time to time. Everyone stressed about removal, please hang in there! Even someone like me who did it during a risky period turned out well! haha
