This is a review of cosmetic surgery I had several years ago. I am thinking about revision surgery.
At a time when donated costal cartilage was not widely used in Busan, I had nose surgery using ear cartilage / donated costal cartilage, and although I had a thorough consultation with the doctor before surgery, after surgery I ended up with an unsatisfactory result that was not the shape I wanted. I have a small nose and a short nose. They lowered the columella? area under the nose too much, so there was not enough space to sufficiently lengthen the nasal tip, and the nasal height did not increase. From the front, it became a long nose where only the columella length had increased, with the nostrils visible.
As I watched the surgical progress, I consulted the doctor, and the answer I got was unbelievable
The doctor said, “Since you are tall, people look up at you from below, so they probably won’t notice that your nose is long” For reference, I am 168 cm tall.
After surgery, the doctor probably also felt that it looked too strong. After a year passed, I had another surgery just to trim the columella area. They could not raise the nasal height, and it just went back to my original nose
And now, several years later - in conclusion, the donated costal cartilage at the nasal tip has been absorbed and is now gone, and the area below the silicone has become sunken and droopy.
I know surgery is always a gamble and case by case, but... How nice would it be if we could filter out doctors from the start who just make ridiculous self-justifications to patients who are devastated after surgery..?
