After having surgery with an L-shaped silicone implant and using it for almost 10 years, I thought, “Ah, I’ll just need to replace the silicone,” so I had surgery without thinking much.. then they said there was contracture at the nasal tip.. After that revision surgery, the columella shifted to one side, and the columella didn’t line up with the center of the philtrum. So after just 2 weeks, I had a revision of the revision, and in the end, the septal cartilage became exposed outside the nasal mucous membrane. On the CT, I could see the septal cartilage was bent and protruding (the columella did collapse less, but what does that matter in the end when bone/cartilage is protruding? I think it would have been better to just live 6 months with it crooked like before and then have revision surgery). I need to quickly suture the exposed bone/cartilage area, but how can I trust that doctor again and leave my nose to them.. So in the end, I went to another hospital and urgently booked a suturing surgery.. (I’m grateful they even accepted me.. I contacted several places and they told me to get treatment at the hospital where I had surgery, which is understandable in a way.)
I’ve stopped all social activities, and although I haven’t lived that long, I’ve never experienced stress like this in my life. It’s also largely my fault for deciding on surgery without looking into it much. Who can I blame? I’m truly, truly glad for those whose surgeries went well and who are satisfied, and for those going through a hard time, let’s try to stay strong together. I don’t know how many times I’m going under sleep anesthesia in just a few months. I need to stay strong too.
