I saw a post on the board strongly recommending a hospital in very eloquent writing, and I made a consultation appointment on impulse (it wasn’t on my original list). First of all, the waiting time was the longest of all the hospitals I went to for consultations. I think I waited about forty minutes. A person with a splint on their nose was also sitting in the lobby waiting, and there seemed to be about two other people with appointments at the same time, but I think I was the last one.
Everyone was extremely busy and the atmosphere was a bit hectic (later I asked, and they said it was because the director personally does all the dressings too). Just when I was thinking, without any idea, when on earth they were going to call me in and consult me, the director came and explained things carefully. They told me to sit closer, to hold up the mirror, and explained while shaping my nose with a cotton swab. The consultation itself felt very sincere and individualized.
The director had charisma and explained things well, but when I mentioned a concern I had, they seemed a little incredulous, as if to say, why are you worrying when I’m saying it’s fine?.... I was expecting an answer more like, this is like this, so you don’t need to worry about it~
And then they showed me before-and-after photos. Of course there is a change, but the before photo was an ordinary camera photo with no skin retouching, and the after photo was taken with an app even if you looked at it upside down, so I couldn’t really emotionally connect to it. Also, the nose in the photo looked too high to me, so when I said it looked too high, they insisted twice that this is not a high nose at all and that it absolutely is not a high nose.
It felt like my opinion probably wouldn’t be accepted well anyway, and when I looked at the after photos on the website, the nose shapes all looked the same, and that shape didn’t seem to be my style either. The surgery time seemed to be set at more than five hours, but looking at other reviews, I wasn’t the only one saying it took that long. It could be that it takes that long because there’s a lot to pay attention to, but I honestly don’t know... This place doesn’t seem to suit me.
The reason this post got so long is probably that I went in after reading such glowing praise, so my expectations were too high. That ended up backfiring.
