It’s already been three months Until the first month, because of the swelling, I wondered if I’d done it for nothing, and the hardest part was not being able to eat delicious food But now the swelling is all gone, I can open my mouth well, and I can eat everything well
Until the first month, I was upset because my face didn’t seem to have changed But now that three months have passed, my face has definitely softened and I can see that my cheekbones have gone in! Also, my face looked different in month 2 and month 3 Maybe the swelling keeps going down, but as time passes, my cheekbones look more recessed My mouth doesn’t open like before, but about two and a half fingers? fit in. Compared to not even being able to fit two fingers until one month after surgery, I think that’s a lot of progressㅎㅎ
But my temporomandibular joint was originally bad and after doing it, the sound got worse and my jaw hurtsㅠㅠ I think this can’t be helpedㅠㅠ Every time I yawn, there’s a really loud click! from my jaw and I get startled but my jaw was originally badㅠㅠ And because of the hollowing, seriously, almost every day I was posting on Q&A sites and in this community, but now it’s become much lighter To the point that it doesn’t bother me..? Still, it is more sunken than before To summarize:
Pain: Right after surgery, more than cheekbone pain, my throat hurt so~ much and the retching drove me crazy.. I called the nurse and begged them to stop the retchingㅠㅠ I was almost about to vomit The cheekbone pain became throbbing after 2-3 days But for me, more than cheekbone pain, as the swelling went down, the gum pain around the stitches inside my mouth was severe.. It got better as the stitches were removed
Swelling: After about 1-2 months, it goes down quickly. Don’t pay a lot for things like Elas A and take them. I didn’t see even 1 bit of effect Time is the medicine, and walking helps it go down better Until one month, I was puffy, but from two months, I started returning to my original face Right after surgery, my eyes truly wouldn’t open, so seeing all of it go down like this feels amazing Almost every day, I looked in the mirror, cried, and regretted itㅠㅠ
Bruising: I’m the type who doesn’t bruise much originally, so I had no bruising at all! I think this differs depending on constitution
Effect: It’s definitely there. To me, I felt like my cheekbones went in a huge amount, but to others, it looks like I lost a lot of weight? No one thinks I had cheekbone surgery Even my boyfriend doesn’t know I had surgery
Scars: The sideburn scars still don’t seem like they’re going awayㅠ They’re about 1-1.5 cm and red, so they show a lot Some people asked what surgery I had because of this I originally don’t have sideburns.. so I think it shows more on me than on others. It has faded now, but it still showsㅠ
Daily life: People ask when you can return to daily life I went to work on day 5. I just said I had my wisdom teeth removed, and everyone believed it. But I think it was okay because my job lets me work wearing a mask. If your work involves dealing with people, plan for more than a week.. Swelling is one thing, but first of all, speaking is slurred and if you eat with coworkers, it shows.. If they see you can’t open your mouth, they might notice. For a while, you can barely open your mouth For reference, at one month I tried sushi, but it wouldn’t all fit in my mouth rice grains were falling everywhere, I ate with my hands, and it was chaos ㅎㅎ;
Side effects: First, hollowing! It depends on the person, but I got it. It has faded a lot, but if I’m under fluorescent light, the hollowing is still visible. It’s much better than at first And I developed rhinitis.. Runny nose and phlegm were severe right after surgery, and I still have phlegmㅠ I’m going to an ENT clinic And my temporomandibular joint hurtsㅠㅠ I think this applies to people whose jaw was originally bad I haven’t had cheek sagging yet. Maybe because it’s only been three monthsㅠ
After cheekbone surgery, it was really so hard until one month and time wouldn’t pass, but as expected, time is the medicine I’m glad I did it. I am afraid of future cheek sagging or side effects, but still, I think I’ll be happier than living with a face with protruding cheekbones I wear my hair slicked back and in ponytails too! But don’t expect a huge dramatic change It softens the facial line, but it doesn’t make the face extremely smaller or anything Thank you everyone for reading, and please leave a message or comment if you’re curious about anything!
