My eyes always looked sleepy and I had multiple double eyelid folds, so I debated getting double eyelid surgery and went ahead with it. After seeing the power of plastic surgery once I got my outer canthoplasty, I honestly didn’t even think that hard about it. The problem was that my eyes had an outer-crease look and looked sleepy. My double eyelids were too thick, so they felt uncomfortable and heavy, and I couldn’t open my eyes well, so I decided to get eye-opening correction and have the line made a little lower, but after the surgery, the line seemed way too thin.. They said it wouldn’t be very noticeable, but since it was eye-opening correction, I felt like the line would stay too pronounced, and it didn’t feel like my eye shape had changed in a pretty way. I wanted it to look natural.. Because I had such thick double eyelid folds, I no longer looked sleepy, but thanks to the thinner double eyelids, my eyes felt even smaller...... So after seriously agonizing over it, I undid it after two months. The doctor even tried to stop me from undoing it, lolㅋㅋㅋ Honestly, if I hadn’t had any double eyelid fold at all, I would have said it was a successful surgery.. But because I had large, thick double eyelids before (the problem was that I looked sleepy and couldn’t open my eyes well), it looked so different from before and the fact that my eyes looked smaller bothered me the most, so I just asked them to undo it.
They said undoing it wouldn’t require general anesthesia, so I just had local anesthesia and kept talking with the doctor performing the procedure. When undoing it, there were areas that had adhered, so the right side had to be cut in two places, and that’s why I still have a bit of a scar.
The lucky thing is that because my eyes naturally had multiple folded double eyelid lines, people don’t even really notice whether there is a scar.. If this weren’t a case like mine and instead were a monolid case, I think there would be a scar left when undoing it.
The eye-opening correction had a bit of adhesion over those two months, so now opening my eyes isn’t as uncomfortable as before, and they do open a bit more clearly than before. They still look a little sleepy, but I don’t plan to get it done again. I think this just suits my face better.. I’ll think about it some more and post photos later
