JW Jungwon community review

After having double eyelid surgery 15 years ago, I developed an epicanthoplasty scar and an incisional double eyelid scar. I worried about it a lot, then decided to have revision surgery 5 years ago and visited JW Jungwon Plastic Surgery. I think I trusted them after seeing promotional text on their website saying they were confident in revision surgery. At the time, I think I also took the high surgery cost as a kind of confidence. Director Choi Hong-rim said that along with epicanthoplasty restoration, because my double eyelid scar was severe I needed double eyelid revision surgery, because my eye-opening strength was weak I needed revision ptosis correction, and because epicanthoplasty restoration would shorten the horizontal length, I needed lateral canthoplasty. They said Director Kim Yeon-jun would handle the lateral canthoplasty. The first three surgeries were so painful. Also, during surgery, the doctor spoke informally and in a commanding way, with an overbearing attitude, which made me feel afraid. He was holding a surgical scalpel and cutting into my skin, so I could not properly protest his inappropriate attitude. Because it was my first time experiencing something like that, I had to go through considerable humiliation. The surgery time was quite long. I think the surgery took more than 3 hours. After surgery, my eyes felt pulled, making it difficult to look straight ahead, and the middle part of my eyes was lifted excessively, making my eyes triangular. At the 2-week follow-up, I said it was difficult to look straight ahead, but I did not receive an answer about that. And right afterward, I saw the doctor performing the lateral canthoplasty for the first time. Without saying anything, he tried pulling my eye open once with a stick, then said one thing, “Let’s do the surgery,” and left the consultation room. I was put under sedation, and when I woke up, the surgery was over. After surgery, I was shocked because my impression looked so different. My eyes felt extremely pulled, and the foreign-body sensation was severe. It was the same even after the stitches were removed. I later found out that they had fixed the surgical area with non-absorbable sutures. The positions of the lateral canthoplasties on both sides were different, but I was not in a situation where surgery could be done immediately, so I had to have revision surgery on the right side 6 months later. As a result, the pain in my right eye became worse. As a result of the surgery, the site of the epicanthoplasty restoration was deeply indented in a hook shape, the double eyelid surgical scar became worse, the ptosis correction was overcorrected so the line looked unnatural, and even though the double eyelid was done with an incisional surgery, the right side came undone. After the lateral canthoplasty, it became difficult to smile with my eyes, and a foreign-body sensation or burning pain remained at the surgical site. Eventually, 3 years ago, I spent a large amount of money at another hospital to undergo revision epicanthoplasty restoration and closed the inner corners of my eyes again. The lateral canthoplasty fixation was removed 2 years ago to improve the foreign-body sensation and pain. After removing the lateral canthoplasty fixation, the symptoms improved to some extent, but the burning pain remained. After surgery, I explained the side effects several times to the two doctors and the consultation manager, but they did not suggest any way to improve the problems, repeatedly maintained that there was no issue with the surgery, and treated me unkindly, which hurt me a lot. And now my dry eye has worsened. Due to overcorrection from ptosis correction, I have severe eye pulling, and because of that I developed headaches. I often suffer from a dull aching pain in my upper eyelids and pain at the lateral canthoplasty surgical site, and there are many times when I cannot fall asleep easily. 2 years ago, while driving, I was suffering from this eye discomfort, blinking and touching my eyes, and I actually got into a traffic accident. Because I often touch my eyes due to pain, my right-eye vision has worsened a lot. I often worry whether I might go blind like this. Overall, I ended up with an unnatural appearance that is not harmonious, and I am having difficulty with my social life. The surgery I had at this hospital 5 years ago completely changed my life.
