Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> I had my third surgery and got my splint removed today! I originally had a naturally bulbous nose, and after surgery my nose became longer with tip drooping. There is still a lot of swelling, but I feel like I’ve gotten away from the long-nose look! I’m happy because my nose also looks shorter, which makes me look younger! I hope the swelling goes down quickly!
+ Silicone and ear cartilage were used! First surgery: autologous dermis + ear cartilage Second surgery: silicone + septal cartilage Third surgery (now): removal of the existing silicone, then new silicone + ear cartilage were used!

A lot of people asked me by message why I chose this clinic, and it’s hard to reply to everyone, so I’ll add it here!
I knew that the director had previously been at View and April31, and that he tends to make noses look natural and, if possible, performs surgery safely without artificial implants. He has more than 10 years of experience, and seeing that he consistently gives academic presentations and publishes papers made me think he is someone who works under his own name. I thought he would probably know many different cases, as well as the advantages and risks of the latest trends. Honestly, there are so many plastic surgery clinics, and this clinic didn’t have many reviews, so I was unsure whether to go for a consultation. Even narrowing down clinics for consultations is work, and there is so much to look into. After reading some columns written by the director, I felt some trust. Also, because of my job, when I worked at a hospital, I saw that professors who steadily did research and wrote papers were much more passionate with patients and looked more professional, so I viewed that positively. I added it to my consultation list first and went for a consultation.
Among the clinics I consulted with, he was also the person who touched and examined my nose the longest while thinking it over. Since I had a bulbous nose and wanted a slimmer nose, many other clinics talked about doing osteotomy. So when I asked about osteotomy, he said that because my skin is thick, it would be hard for the nasal tip to become very slim, and if osteotomy were done, the nasal bridge would become thinner, making the nose look even longer and unbalanced. It felt like something clicked in my head. Other clinics said that since I wanted to make my nose thinner, they would do osteotomy, raise it, and tie the tip cartilage, but when I thought about it, that would be a method that makes the nose look longer, even though I dislike having a long nose. I liked that he told me what seemed possible if done in a way better suited to my face, while also explaining what could and could not realistically be done in line with the direction I wanted. And honestly, until opening the nose during surgery, no one can guarantee exactly what my nose is like or what should be done. When everyone said, “It’s like this, I’ll do it this way, I’ll make it pretty,” I actually trusted them less. But he honestly said that he would only know after opening it, and explained that in one situation this could be done, and in another situation there would be another method. In my case too, the cartilage looked wide, so it seemed like gathering and tying it could improve the bulbous nose. But once opened, the cartilage was actually thin and already sufficiently gathered, just lacking strength.
Honestly, after consulting with the director, I had made up my mind to do it here and was going to pay the deposit. After the director consultation, I had the consultation with the manager, and I was surprised because the manager gave me a business card and told me to look into it more and contact them. Usually everyone says they’ll make it cheaper if you pay a deposit, and in severe cases there is even pressure to pay a deposit. Also, some places say it will be cheaper if you pay in cash, which involves tax evasion, but they said cash and card are the same price and to use whichever is more comfortable, so I liked that and thought it was an honest place.
What I’ve additionally been satisfied with after surgery up to now (day 10) is that, because mine was the last surgery, it ended close to 9 o’clock, but despite that, he came to me while I was lying in the recovery room, told me I had done well, explained how the surgery went, and said he would explain in detail the next day. The next day, he showed me the surgical record and surgery photos, explained in detail that because the situation was like this, he performed the surgery this way, and every time I came in for disinfection, he personally checked the shape and explained the progress. I was touched... Surgery itself matters, but aftercare and explanations afterward need to be even more thorough, right? But this was my sixth plastic surgery, and until now I had never properly seen the director after surgery.. Honestly, even when there is a problem at a plastic surgery clinic, it’s hard to see the operating director, so would the operating director personally care for a patient without problems..? But at least so far, I feel reassured that the director personally touches the surgical area, checks its condition, and explains things. There’s honestly a huge difference between the manager saying, “You normally swell a bit, it’ll be okay with time,” and the director pressing and checking carefully, then saying, “It may swell a bit, but it’ll be okay with time.” The swelling hasn’t all gone down yet, and I don’t know how it will be later lol, but for now I’m satisfied. You might be suspicious because I’m only praising it, but this is what I’ve felt so far, and if something gets worse later, I might go around not recommending it....ㅠ I don’t mind being doubted, I just hope I can keep saying only good things and won’t have to write anything bad!
