After removal <side view after removal><only the nostrils lifted (the nostril angle is higher than the tip)><my original nose> I took photos after removing the tape today and am posting them.
The funny thing is The tip did not lift. But the nostrils did. The tip didn’t lift, but only the nostrils did, so it really looks like a pig nose. It’s only been 6 days, so I’m going to wait slowly and give it time. It’s still flesh anyway, so would it stay pulled up for life... If it has any sense, once time passes it’ll settle down on its own...
Overall nose shape is somewhere between before surgery and after surgery, for now. As soon as the splint came off, the columella settled down in a round shape. There’s still a foreign-body feeling and a somewhat lumpy feeling, but it’s much better than when the support was in. It feels soft when touched, and I can do a very gentle “mwa-mwa” too. I think it’ll loosen up much more even after just one more week. When I had tip surgery before, even by week 2 the inside of my nose was still very swollen, but with the removal surgery, even on day 6 the inside of my nose isn’t swollen at all. It’s the same as before surgery. As soon as the hard part around the bridge and nostril area loosens up, it’ll be okay even if I stick my finger in and dig around. Because I had a non-incisional surgery, there are stitches on the upper inside of the nostrils, and I think that’s making it feel more uncomfortable. There was one thread coming out of the left nostril, and there aren’t any loosened stitches on the right yet, but the left nostril definitely has less of a foreign-body feeling, feels more comfortable when smiling, and seems to have come down a little more. I’ll post another update when there are signs that the nostrils are coming down. Let’s all keep fighting
