I went to a clinic that’s famous for contracture and revision surgery with high expectations, but they seemed to prefer silicone so I gave up on surgery... If I used my own dermis it would look spread out, and if I used costal cartilage it would require an incision at the lowest part of the ribs, leaving a scar and being easy to break? likely to warp? so I got the feeling they weren’t confident about using my own tissue The repeated hissing sounds they made during the consultation felt at first like a small laugh, but since their expression was blank, I guess it was just a habit.. I kept smiling thinking they were laughing, so it was awkward.. The consultation manager was very kind, so I finished on a good note, but even if it’s revision surgery, this price for silicone feels way too expensive... Then they suddenly showed me post-op photos too (photos of actual adherent tissue being removed), and even though I often watch surgical videos on YouTube and am interested in them, I was momentarily shocked. People who don’t do well with gross images will probably be very surprised... From the photos, I’m not a doctor, but it seems like they’re good at removing the cause of contracture, meaning the adherent tissue. Looking at the shape of the removed scar tissue (capsule) and the nose shape after surgery, they seem to be really technically good at removal! This clinic is less about pretty reconstruction and more of a removal-specialist clinic..!
