Before and after. On Thursday, October 12, I had liposuction on my upper arms, back bulges, and armpits.
I had upper-arm liposuction 10 years ago, but it wasn't dramatic and the difference wasn't that big either. This time I decided to go all in and started looking into revision surgery. I had in-person consultations at two other places, but at Roble, the consultation slots were fully booked on the date I wanted... Since I live far away, I couldn't go in person, so I had a detailed consultation with the manager over KakaoTalk. She explained the most important part, the price, and the additional details very thoroughly, so for some reason I felt I could trust them. At the places I visited in person, they told me the price in advance, but when I actually went there for a consultation, the cost was very different from what I had expected. They explained everything I was curious about one by one, so I booked the surgery right away!!!!!! I think I felt even more reassured after meeting the manager in person. Because it was revision surgery, I was very careful about everything... Since I couldn't have an in-person consultation, they had already told me in advance that on the day of surgery they would do an ultrasound, and if there were any impossible parts, the surgery might be difficult. But I knew I had a lot of fat... so I thought it wouldn't be impossible.
I visited around 2 p.m. on the 12th, and as expected, there were many people there for surgery and consultations.
It was my first time meeting Manager Go Ara, and she went over again what we had discussed on KakaoTalk. There were no additional charges beyond the amount I had been told in advance. When I had consultations elsewhere, they said I would also need axillary breast tissue removal, but honestly, I didn't think mine was that large, and it didn't bother me visually either. But the manager looked at it and said right away that I probably wouldn't need to do that part. That matched exactly what I was thinking, so I was really happy. So I decided to do only the upper arms, back bulges, and armpit areas. After that, I had heard that one of Roble's strengths is that they also do an ultrasound during consultation, and the doctor explained how much fat was present on the ultrasound. As expected, my upper arms had a lot of fat ㅠㅠ
After the ultrasound, I went back to the consultation room, and the doctor did the design. Even though it was revision surgery, he said the upper arms would be well refined and matched to my shoulder line, which made me trust him.
After the design was finished, I went up to the operating room. When I got there, the nurses in the operating room kindly explained everything and made the needle insertion not painful. Everyone there was so kind that I felt good, and it left a positive impression.
After disinfection, I was on the operating table... They quietly played music, which made me feel even calmer. (A song I like...)
Then Director Jeong Raejun came in, asked my name and date of birth again, and started the surgery.
The moment I woke up from anesthesia, I was still half out of it, but because of the fasting they immediately prepared warm porridge at the hospital so I wouldn't feel hungry. I finished a bowl in no time, and since I live far away... I said I had to leave right away because of the bus schedule, but they told me it would be better to lie down for another 1 to 2 hours ㅠㅠ
I was in a hurry... so I went home. When I finally looked at my upper arms at home, they were swollen, but the difference was definitely visible... I could tell with my own eyes that fat had been removed.
They explained that 1,300 cc had been removed, and they also wrote it on the post-op instruction sheet, which I liked. If I only hear it, I'll forget it... haha. And they also showed me the removed fat directly with my own eyes, which was really fascinating.
Now it's almost been two weeks, so I'm planning to come back to have the stitches removed. Even just looking with my eyes, I can tell there's a difference, haha, and I'm spending these days happily.
I was stiff on the first day, but rather than my upper arms hurting... my back hurt more. Other than that, I could go about daily life right away, so I went straight to work. The manager said that after surgery, it's not about moving less because it hurts; I still had to stretch my arms every day. I did that every day, and I think it hurt less too.
At first my arms were swollen, so the compression garment was uncomfortable, but as the swelling went down, wearing it became much easier, and now I wear it like it's my own clothes... like my own underwear.
