10 years ago, I had Surgiform on the nasal bridge + hump shaving, osteotomy for a crooked nose, correction of a deviated septum, a support strut made with septal cartilage, and the nasal tip cartilages tied together (I really had a lot done). The first clinic is blacklisted, so I don’t even want to mention it, and when I said I had it done there, I was told things like, “They’ll be shocked when they open your nose,” “It’s a difficult nose,” etc. For over a year, I read this community, cried a lot, couldn’t sleep, trembled with fear, and thought only about my nose all day. I regret so much that I should have spent that precious time thinking about my kids instead.. but I really was insanely careful. I read every post from the very first page of this community. I wanted to fix the 10 years of suffering all at once ㅠ
I know how it feels when you don’t even want to buy clothes, don’t want to eat, and can’t think of anything.. But this time will pass.
In the end, I had consultations at 2 places and had everything removed. Consultation findings: They had placed two or three layers of Surgiform on the nasal dorsum, and it had apparently been quite a while since the Surgiform had broken through inside one nostril. I felt like my nose was running, so I asked the doctor, and they said it was probably just my imagination.. but then they looked inside my nostril and were super shocked.. said this had to be removed immediately lol Why did they even put in a septal support strut.. It wasn’t doing its job, and the nasal bridge had completely dropped. After 10 years, I think it makes sense that it drops because of gravity. In the photos, the top 4 are before removal, and the bottom ones are the day of removal and today, day 3 after removal ~ It’s still very swollen, and I still have cotton inside my nose haha Still, I feel relieved ㅠㅠ
Right after surgery, I came home and had to take care of two kids, a newborn and a 5-year-old, so I could feel pressure building up inside my nose. On the first day, definitely just watch TV and rest lol.. The upside of being born unable to rest is that since I kept working, by the morning of day 3, all the bruising was gone lol
I cried and laughed in this community, gained strength.. and received so much help, so I wanted to help others too, which is why I’m leaving this review. I wondered if the day would ever come when I’d write a post here ~
It’s only been 3 days, so I’ll upload more photos later. I think I still need to keep watching it too ~ So far, it’s okay.
For those who are struggling emotionally like I was last year, please decide carefully and thoughtfully. And things will definitely get better!!
