Before and after, before and after Hi everyone! As the title says, I’ll leave a review of finally succeeding after 5 surgeries.
I did go around to several places, but I think I really did a lot of online research. Among them, I filtered out all the clinics that mainly used Photoshopped photos, and while looking for a place on YouTube with lots of real post-surgery interview videos without Photoshop, I found the clinic where I had surgery this time. Unlike other clinics, the ratio of waiting patients seemed to be about 5:5 men to women. Somehow I had a good feeling about it. After consultation, my nose was a total mess, with a drooping nasal tip / columellar retraction / implant showing through at the nasal tip, etc. The doctor said it was almost a contracted nose and that it would be a difficult surgery.
Nose materials: autologous costal cartilage, silicone, donated dermis (used as a thin protective layer over the silicone because there wasn’t enough skin laxity after multiple surgeries)
Day of surgery I think the surgery took about 4 hours. Since it was a major surgery, it did take a long time. This clinic keeps nasal packing in for 5 days. Other clinics all remove the cotton after just one day, so when I asked why here, they said it was to help the nasal swelling go down quickly and told me I absolutely had to endure 5 days. That time was truly hell. How did I endure breathing through my mouth for 5 days... people really are creatures that adapt.
Day 5 They removed the cotton from my nose and took off the splint. Over a total of 5 surgeries, I had always had severe swelling and bruising, but this time there was no bruising at all, and the swelling wasn’t unbearable to look at either. The columella had come down perfectly, and the nasal bridge was extremely high, maybe because they had overcorrected it, but it was even more than the straight nose I wanted. After that, I went once a week to check progress, and because I had a bulbous nose, they gave me scar-tissue injections every time I went. They say the area where autologous costal cartilage is harvested differs by person, but it hurt for 3 weeks;;
A month has already flown by haha. Almost all the swelling has gone down, and only a little residual swelling is left. I met such a good director, and he gave me my life backㅠ Everyone who has had surgery several times will know. More than time or money, the fear of failure is the biggest thing. There probably aren’t many cases where a man has surgery as many as 5 times, right? I really hope everyone here does lots of online and in-person research too, so you don’t fail several times like me and succeed in one go :D
