I had implant removal + ear cartilage and dermis grafting~ Since this was already my third nose surgery, I really did a lot of online and in-person research. For my first surgery, I went in without knowing much, with the vague expectation that it would get better if I just had surgery. As a result, the implant showed through, and anyone could tell I had nose surgery, but the nasal tip drooped and it did not harmonize with my face. I wasted only the materials and the surgery failed.. haha
For the second surgery, as I searched a bit more, I became afraid of side effects, so I chose a place with a lot of surgical experience that prioritized safety. The doctor said that to raise the nasal tip as much as possible, we should use costal cartilage and make it firm, so I even used autologous costal cartilage for the surgery. However, after I went into the operating room, they said the materials used before could not be reused, removed the septal cartilage and ear cartilage as well, and unlike the consultation, placed the silicone crookedly, and all I heard was that they could not raise it much. Even on CT, the silicone was floating. When I talked or smiled, I felt the silicone pressing on the cartilage and skin, and I endured 7 years with the anxiety that inflammation could occur at any time.
Because I really did not know enough, I had repeated failures all this time, but since I had to fix it, I had my third surgery recently. I came to think that nose surgery must prioritize safety, require a lot of surgical experience, also require aesthetic sense, and should be done at a place that communicates smoothly with the patient. I think it may be an important surgery where not even one of those things can be missing.
Before visiting, through the director's blog, I learned that he was truly sincere about surgery, full of passion, rich in safety awareness, aesthetic sense, and experience, and someone who communicates well, so I visited. As expected, during the consultation, he kindly and clearly explained my condition!! He did not say the surgery would definitely work no matter what, but clearly explained the limitations, and still said he would keep trying until the end, so I chose him, and it really was the best choice. The director did his best to operate safely and meet my expectations, so I am so, so satisfied with the result, and I truly feel grateful as if he were my benefactor. Maybe because his surgical skills are good, I had no pain after surgery, and there was not much swelling, bruising, or scarring either.
At one week, there was swelling, but I spent the whole day looking at my side profile in the mirror that I used to hate looking at because of my complex. After the nasal splint was removed, it also felt like the swelling went down better, and I tried to reduce the remaining swelling quickly with walks and warm compresses. Especially because I was worried about inflammation around the ear, both I and the clinic paid a lot of attention to it, so the back side was comfortable too.
Now I only feel a little swelling on the right side, and it seems to have gone down a lot. Less of my nostrils show, the nasal tip is lifted, the nose is straightened and natural, and I really like how my impression changed to look softer. From the side, unlike before, it also has a refined feel
Before surgery, because the silicone had gone in crookedly, I could not breathe well through my left nostril, but after the silicone was removed, I am even having the amazing experience of breathing smoothly through the left side. Now that breathing is comfortable and the nasal congestion is gone, I really feel like I can live I want to let people know how important nose surgery is and that it should not be done carelessly.
There were really many things that happened, and I experienced going all the way to a third surgery. I hope this surgery will be my last surgery..
