I had orthodontic treatment at a regular dental clinic and then underwent two-jaw surgery at a university hospital. After about 1 to 2 years of orthodontic treatment, I had the two-jaw surgery, and now I’m in the final stage of post-surgical orthodontic treatment. Although it cost more than two-jaw surgery generally performed at plastic surgery clinics, the professor who performed the surgery looked after me very carefully, so I’m very satisfied and have had no particular side effects. Before surgery, I especially had discomfort from malocclusion caused by my lower jaw being very overdeveloped, such as drooling, food spilling out, and air leaking when I spoke. Those problems have now completely disappeared after surgery. To be honest, aside from the discomfort above, I also expected some improvement in appearance, but when I look at my own face, it feels like not much has changed. But seeing my younger sibling and other friends say my face suddenly changed, it seems there definitely was a noticeable change from other people’s perspective. Haha
