It’s been a week since my nose implant removal surgery, so I went to have the splint taken off! The stitches on the outside of my nose were removed too, and I was told the stitches inside my nose will be removed next week. But I can shower starting tomorrow! I can finally wash myself For now, just having the splint off feels so refreshing. I can actually see the nose I had surgery on, and it seems like the nose-tip turn-up turned out well, without any lifted nostrils. There’s still some height because of the swelling, but it is low, haha. It’ll probably look much lower once the swelling goes down, haha Still, seeing my completely bare nose after giving up on height feels so clean and nice!
I thought I had surgery like this: 1st time: silicone for the bridge + septum 2nd time: bridge silicone replacement + septum reuse + ear cartilage But at the second hospital, they used Medpor without even telling me... After the removal, the director told me, and I was so dumbfounded and shocked.. No wonder the tip felt harder than when only the septum was used...
I agonized over it a lot, but I think I chose the hospital well. The surgical result is good, and I liked that the director checked on my progress every time I went in! The first and second surgeries were at a pretty big hospital, so after consultation and surgery I couldn’t see them again.. I’m glad I didn’t bruise much and the nose hasn’t been deformed, aside from the area under my nose stretching a bit and feeling tight when I smile!
+I got the photos from today’s removal, so I’m uploading them too Two layers of silicone, a lot of ear cartilage used, septum, and even Medpor Looking at the photos, it makes sense that I felt some foreign-body sensation.. Still, seeing the removal photos makes me feel relieved that everything was cleaned out completely
