A while ago, I had consultations at 4 places: ㅂㄹㅇ(ㅡㅏㅜㄴ), ㅊㅇ(ㅣㅠ), ㅇㄹ(ㅖㅗㅁ), and ㄷㄹ(ㅏㅡㅁ)!! I was torn between ㅊㅇ and ㄷㄹ, but in the end I had been leaning toward ㄷㄹ
Reason: I said I only wanted to lift the nasal tip, but ㅊㅇ suggested lots of things besides the nasal tip too (e.g. lowering the columella, alar reduction, etc.). But at ㄷㄹ, they said my nose didn’t need those things, and I liked that they kept the surgical items minimal
But in the end it just fizzled outㅎ.. The reason was that reality hit me..
Then this time, since I’m seriously thinking of doing it, I only went back for a re-consultation at ㄷㄹ, which had felt the best when I first went around for consultations
[Before the consultation] •I prepaid 10,000 won for the re-consultation fee when making the consultation appointment -> I remember the first consultation being free •I think I waited about… 20 minutes? There were a few people ahead of me •I think I just took a CT at the first consultation, but this time, during the consultation, the consultant asked if I was really going to get nose surgery. I said yes, so before meeting the director, I took a CT and went in
[Consultation details] •My complex: nasal tip.. especially the front-view nose! From the side, the nasal tip does droop, but it isn’t blunt… From the front, the nasal tip is wide left to right, so it looks like a flat triangleㅜ
•Request: I said I wanted to raise the nasal tip, but not a pointy nasal tip, more of a round…? slightly small oval nasal tip. Because my overall impression is on the gentle side, and I felt like if only my nose looked sharp, it 100% wouldn’t suit meㅎ I didn’t request a specific line like straight-with-slight-curve or semi-upturned. I did take a photo of an influencer with the kind of vibe I wanted just in case, but I don’t think it helped muchㅎ
Aside from the nasal tip, I honestly like my nasal bridge and alae, so I clearly said during the consultation that I had no intention of touching them, and they also said there was no need to do them unless I wanted to
After I said about this much, the surgical plan came out to 3.5 million won total: no implant, mainly using the septal cartilage (ear cartilage if needed), raising the nasal tip, and basic surgery like cartilage tying
Answers to the parts I was worried about:
Q. My columella length is short. Won’t it curl inward? And I also don’t want my midface to look longer or my nose to look pinchedㅠ A. Since I want a natural look, and my nasolabial angle is short to begin with, with a no-implant approach the nose can’t be raised very high, so that won’t happen. Don’t worry
Q. If it’s done too naturally, once all the swelling goes down later, won’t it become the same as my pre-op noseㅠ? A. Actually, even if it’s done naturally, a cartilage support structure is still being built in the nose. Even after all the swelling goes down and a lot of time passes, it won’t completely return to the pre-op nose. There will definitely be a change. However, because the drooping nasal tip will be raised only with cartilage and without an implant, within a range that doesn’t strain facial balance, there won’t be a dramatic change. Don’t expect changes like the alae getting smaller or the nasal bridge getting higher.
I worry a lot, so if you think about it, I asked several questions that were basically in the same context, but the director kept answering kindly and in detail, so I felt reassured. Even after that, they kept asking if I had any other questions. The consultant also didn’t feel pushy at all, and of course there was no pressure to book surgery
So after the consultation ended, I paid the deposit right away! There wasn’t any discount for booking the same day, but I had come thinking I would do it here anyway, so it didn’t really matter
