<I couldn't wash at that time, so the sebum and pores look awful. Please ignore that when viewing>Some people have asked how my nose is currently doing after removal, so I'm posting a full summary.
First of all, overall, the removal was done fairly stably. It may be because I left the nasal tip in place, but there was no collapse or upturning of the nasal tip at all. I also didn't really feel much splitting/irregularity along the nasal bridge, and I'm satisfied with this part.
Now I'll talk about the problems. As I mentioned even at 1 month post-op, the area above my right nostril that was pulled upward did not come down even by 8 months.
The director said the shape was the same right after removal, so we should wait at least 6 months, and I waited longer than that, but there was no improvement. Later, after checking another hospital director's blog, it said that in most cases like mine, where the nostril gets pulled upward after surgery or after removal, damage is usually inflicted on the inner corner, the soft triangle area, and because of that, the nostril gets pulled upward.
So at 8 months, I went back to the plastic surgery clinic that had done the removal. Since even I thought revision surgery carried a high risk, I said I wanted only one side corrected with a surgery called nostril lowering, and they said that due to the nature of nostril lowering surgery, the nose can look bigger and the downsides may outweigh the benefits, so they did not recommend it.
And they said the pinched-looking part may be because more blood vessels are visible than before. They said if that bothers me, I should try a laser procedure. In the end, after thinking it over, I had nostril lowering surgery at another plastic surgery clinic.
I could have had it done at the hospital that did the removal if I wanted, but their nostril lowering method was not the method I wanted, so I had the nostril lowering surgery at another plastic surgery clinic that performs it the way I wanted, and I'm satisfied now. ● To give the conclusion, my satisfaction is about 70-80%, and I'm glad it was removed safely and did not collapse, but one nostril got pulled upward, so I inevitably suffered a financial loss. Additionally, among people who had removal at the same place as me, there were a few whose nostrils were pulled upward like mine, so I think you should take these things into account if you're considering removal at that plastic surgery clinic.
This is really case by case, but I once happened to meet an actual member from this community, and that person looked at me and said one pinched nostril wasn't that noticeable, and that they would be satisfied if they ended up even just like that, so they had it done there. I think it's because people's expectations differ.
Anyway, after removal, I ended up with the side effect of one nostril being pulled upward, but to other people, it may still look like the removal went well and that level is okay. However, a case like mine can happen, so I'm letting you know that you should take it into account when considering removal surgery at that plastic surgery clinic.
