One-Month Review After Early Removal (Long Post Warning)

First surgery: March 3 Removal: March 19 (day 16) Surgery details: 4.5 mm silicone, ear cartilage (I think it was a support strut?) Removal: complete removal, cartilage repositioning, loosening the tied sutures and retying them a little more loosely with dissolvable sutures Clinic: I had it removed at the clinic where I had the first surgery Reason for removal: too much change in impression, dissatisfaction with the shape (my nose became longer downward and made me look older..), discomfort, etc.

Hello! As of now, it has been exactly one month since removal! Honestly, since it’s only been one month, this isn’t a happy review, so I didn’t have the energy to write it..ㅠㅠ But I decided to write it in hopes that it will become a review that gets better over time!

First, after removal and taking off the tape, the shape was slightly different from my original nose shape. My natural nose had a very low bridge and a spread-out tip, and although my nostrils were visible, the clinic said it was not an upturned nose. It feels like the nasal alae were pulled upward? So from the front, my nostrils changed into a / \ shape, and there is some change in my impression..! My nose feels shorter.

Contracture period: I had the removal done when my nasal tip had become somewhat firm, and after removal it loosened slightly compared with before, then I felt it had become firm again starting on day 10! At that time, unless I pursed my lips and pulled the nose downward, I didn’t feel any separate pulling sensation, and even after 3 weeks it was the same, so I wondered, am I not feeling the contracture period?ㅋㅋ

I started feeling my nose contracting even when I was still from day 25, and rather than every day, it is worst about once every two days when I lie down to sleep! When I wake up, my nose feels heavy, and at dawn on day 28, I had a tingling, sharp sensation from the nasal bridge to the tip, with quite a bit of pain..

In the beginning, even if my nose looked similar, every time I looked in the mirror my mind kept wavering, like today it looks okay, today it looks really strange. But from week 4, there weren’t really any times when it looked okay as time went on. So I took photos as similarly as possible and compared them, and my nose really was contracting..! When I compared my nose on day 11 and day 29, as the swelling went down, the columella and nasal tip went up, and the nostrils shifted more upward and toward the middle. Overall, it feels gathered toward the center? My upper lip also got pulled up a little. (It seems to be contracting more than what I can feel...!)

I couldn’t get a prescription for Rizaben, so I’m not taking it. Would it be better to get it?

What worries me is that my original nose didn’t have a very descended columella, so if more swelling goes down from the current columella swelling, it seems like it will look even more upturnedㅠㅠ.. What I hope improves is that the nasal tip comes down with a slightly lengthened feeling, the upper part of the nasal alae comes down, and the nostrils show a bit less..! Other than that, I don’t want anything!

Even after removal, thoughts about my nose still haven’t disappeared, but I think it will gradually get better!! I do not regret the removal...

I really want to live without any more surgery if at all possible, so I’m trying to at least manage it properly!! Maybe because it’s still early, but there are also points that are better than my original nose, like it looking less spread out and looking more defined from the side, so whenever I get depressed, I try to comfort myself..

I believe that just as strangely as it went up during the contracture period, it will strangely come back down too!!

What’s funny is that even on day 10 I wasn’t satisfied because my face looked different from before, but now when I look back at that time, it was fairly similar to before and satisfactoryㅋㅋㅋㅋ.. Strange, rightㅠㅠ (My real older sister also said it looked almost the same as my original faceㅋㅋㅋ She said it had only changed slightly.) But the surgical nose was... truly hopeless:)..

Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever lived satisfied with my current nose, before surgery, after surgery, and even now after removal. I think everyone in this community has probably felt that way. That’s why we decided on surgery, and why people think about removal or revision surgery. That’s really sad.. It may be hard, but whatever the present is like, let’s try together to see it as positively as possible^___^

There also aren’t many early-removal reviews, and it seems most people do it at clinics specializing in removal, so I’m anxiousㅠㅠ At the 2-month mark, or if there are changes in my nose, I’ll write another review! Thank you for reading this long post!!
