Honestly, I wondered whether I should post this in revision surgery or in the removal section, but I look at the removal section more often, so I’m posting it here. Please let me know if there’s an issue
I got my silicone replaced today. I debated so, so much between removal and replacement, but I didn’t feel confident about dealing with the contracture period, and it wasn’t because I had inflammation. I went because the silicone was crooked and showing through. I’ll write briefly!
Original nose: Nothing except the nasal bridge. No glabella, bulbous nose but a very small bulbous nose, columella recessed
First surgery: 11 years ago, closed approach silicone 3 mm / ear cartilage, cartilage tying Revision surgery: Around 6 months later, the middle of the nose became red and the nasal tip drooped, so I had something done again with a closed approach, either tying the cartilage or adding ear cartilage.. Still no improvement, so I just lived with it. Nostrils became uneven (from the first surgery). I also wondered if they had originally been uneven.. Since I didn’t pay attention, it didn’t really bother me. The hospital disappeared not long after
The nose shape was much better than my original nose, but not pretty enough to be called a surgically enhanced nose. The glabella wasn’t high either, so people didn’t think it was a surgical nose lol
Because of my family’s recommendations + every time I went to get laser treatments and such, the directors would say, “What happened to your nose!!!!” so I decided to open my nose again. I only searched online for a while, then had consultations at one removal hospital and one revision surgery hospital, booked a few days later, and had surgery today
The director at the hospital I went to this time has a style of not recommending that this is better or that is better, so even I couldn’t decide whether to replace or remove it and still wasn’t sure until the day of surgery
I was a bit afraid of the contracture period and also scared my nose would look too spread out, and since there was no inflammation, I made up my mind to replace it and went into surgery.

No, I definitely had the first surgery with a closed approach, but when I checked before surgery, there was a columellar scar.....? An unknowable mystery...

I came out after sleeping, rested a little in the recovery room, listened to the explanation, got the prescription, and that was it
Current status: Nose slightly throbbing. Swelling between nose and eyes. The alar area inside the right nostril where the closed approach was done is red
The surgery... I think it took between one hour and one and a half hours. They said when the silicone was first inserted, it wasn’t shaved at all lolololol, they just put in a small silicone implant, so it ended in the middle and showed through.
I saw the removed silicone, and it was very white, pretty, small, soft, and cute lololololololol Replacement used the same 3 mm, and they shaved it more, so I think the total height probably got lower. The shaved silicone actually looked like removed silicone, so it was funny
It’s a bit swollen now, but I like the line and I’m happy that the nasal tip looks less droopy. In the photo, the glabella looks higher, but I think that’s because of the angle and swelling, and looking at the photo taken immediately after surgery, it doesn’t seem to have gotten higher.
