It has been 5 months since I had nose revision surgery from an ENT director in Gangnam.
I am currently suffering a lot from nasal obstruction on one side of my nose. It seems like the internal valve has narrowed.. It is harder when I breathe out than when I breathe in.. I had rhinitis surgery, but something even more stuffy came along.. They say that, generally, narrowing of the internal valve often occurs as a side effect of rhinoplasty.
The problem is, in my case, it feels like I only chose surgeries with a high risk of side effects, such as deviated septum surgery, osteotomy, and septal extension. So I have not been able to identify the cause well, but after thinking about various possibilities, I think there is a high chance that the valve narrowed due to the osteotomy, or that the skin is pressing on the septum due to the septal extension, causing the valve to narrow.
For now, I am thinking of waiting a month, getting a consultation, and then having revision surgery.
What I want to say for those reading this as I write is: Septal extension (this is different from a columellar strut) has a high risk of side effects. The skin presses on the entire septum.. Septal extension is generally used to lengthen the nose, but it is not good cosmetically or functionally for the nose. I really hope you do not do it.
Osteotomy! In particular, although it is said that there are not many cases of complaining of nasal obstruction after osteotomy, even plastic surgeons say it is difficult to predict the exact result of osteotomy. So unless it is absolutely necessary, I think it would be better to naturally raise only the nasal bridge..
And always approach rhinitis surgery and deviated septum surgery carefully! Many people suffer from empty nose syndrome after surgery
