I had double eyelid surgery twice, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty, and lateral canthoplasty. The other procedures were done in my neighborhood and they went badly!! So now I’m looking for a revision surgery clinic, but the lateral canthoplasty didn’t fail, so I’m leaving a review. I had the lateral canthoplasty done at a fairly well-known place in Seoul.
It was 4 years ago, so my memory is a bit vague, but I had the surgery without knowing anything about the risks of lateral canthoplasty. After the surgery, I searched a lot and realized how dangerous it can be... So I was really depressed for a while back then. I paid my own money to do something bad to my own eyes and thought I had ruined them, to the point where I almost had a panic attack. On top of that, my eyeballs were severely swollen and they didn’t look like normal eyes, so I thought I was going crazy... But in the end, after 3 months, they looked like normal eyes. Even though the back part of the eyeball was red, people around me had no idea I had lateral canthoplasty. At the clinic where I went, my eyes really kept going up and up for 6 months and then stopped exactly there. What had been pulled down too much came back up to an appropriate line and stopped. There is no scar at all, and the shape is just slightly lower and longer than my original eye shape. (During the consultation, I said I didn’t like anything excessive, that I only wanted a slight change from my own eyes, and that I wasn’t greedy.) Maybe because of that, no~~~ one can tell I had surgery, and I’m the only one satisfied! But... if you’re sensitive, you’ll be under a huge amount of stress during that swelling-going-down period like I was, so I hope you don’t do it... There really is almost no change... If it were me, I wouldn’t do it again.
