I went in planning to do only buried-suture double eyelid surgery, but the hospital recommended epicanthoplasty, so because it was a big hospital, I just trusted them and did it. But from the beginning, one side of the epicanthoplasty seemed to have been sutured a lot, and when I looked at it right after the stitches were removed, it didn’t seem like it was because of swelling. It was indented, there was a vertical line, and although my skin is on the thinner side, I can see a black thread inside. I asked them to remove it, but they said it wasn’t a thread.. They kept telling me to wait, so I kept waiting, and years passed. Now it has been over 15 years, and I’m looking into revision surgery... These days, when I go for consultations, everyone says that thing at the front of my eye is probably a thread..
I’m looking for a hospital that doesn’t suture epicanthoplasty vertically... Hospitals do seem to have their own characteristics.
