First of all, after I had nasal valve wedge grafting, septum surgery, and inferior turbinate surgery at ㅅㅅㄷㄹ back in 2020, I became completely unable to breathe through only one side of my nose, and more than anything, that tight, pulling feeling?? was really severe.
After that, at ㅇㄷㅂㅅ, they said my internal nasal valve was narrow and that surgery could improve it, so I had a procedure called a flare suture technique, where they tie it with thread to widen the space. I had that done in 2022, but the tightness and pulling symptoms got worse, and I also developed empty nose syndrome, where a lot of air comes in and feels cold..
So, thinking I should try to return things as much as possible to how they used to be, I made a really big decision this time to remove the nasal valve wedge graft and the flare? (the suturing with thread). I was really worried because I was told the nasal valve could collapse, but fortunately the surgery ended successfully, and since the wedge was removed, if the actual pulling and tightness symptoms had been 100, they decreased to about 60, so I think that is really fortunate.
The problem is.. they said the part done with this flare suture technique could not be removed because the thread had already dissolved. Even now, the tightness and pulling symptoms are still quite severe, and I do think it is because the flare suture forcibly pulled things to widen the space. When I use my hand to narrow that pulled area again, the symptoms strangely disappear. I feel so lost about what to do, but I think I somehow need to find a way to reverse this surgery where it was sutured with thread.
