First, I went to two places, ㅇㅇㅇㅋ and ㅁㅇ. Maybe because this is my first surgery, I wanted the most natural-looking line, and my mindset was that a slightly less natural-looking line would also be okay. After narrowing it down, these two places seemed to come up as candidates. (But when I went around for consultations, my mind was about 70% toward ㅇㅇㅇㅋ and 30% toward ㅁㅇ.)
On December 3, I went to both places for consultations in one day. First, I went to ㅁㅇ. - The consultation wait time was really short (I think I basically went in, filled out the chart, waited about 5 minutes, and then met the director right away) - But among the two doctors, even though I didn’t specifically say anything, I met Dr. Heo Jeong - When I asked what kind of nose would suit me well, he said proportions are important, and it seemed like he would match the line that suits my face with the line I want wellㅇㅇ - The surgical method was 1. because I have a slight hump, shaving it down (no osteotomy) 2. inserting 3-3.5 mm silicone 3. using either septal cartilage or cartilage from one ear, not rib cartilage - If ear cartilage is used, they give you an ear mold, and you have to wear it - But he said my nose is a bit crooked (looking at other reviews, this seems to be a characteristic of the director. When I went to ㅇㅇㅇ and asked, they said it wasn’t crooked, but that the rounded nasal bone is not symmetrical, so it could look that way) - The director himself felt a bit tough, and I got the impression that he must be very skilled(?) (e.g. when the topic of after-service came up, he said, “Is a person some kind of object?”) Anyway, after-service is for 2 years
- I didn’t really feel much expertise from the consultation manager. - CCTV is recorded, but you can’t take the footage with you (you can visit the hospital and view the footage within 1 month) - When I asked in early December, there were still quite a few time slots left in January. - After the consultation, they contacted me by message about twice asking if I had any questions.
Overall review I was somewhat drawn to it, enough to shake my original preference. But somehow, at the time, the director felt a bit strong to me.
ㅇㅇㅇㅋ - Maybe it was the day before the consultation, but they contacted me asking if I could change the consultation time because of the surgery schedule (I understood since it’s a one-doctor clinic) - I seriously almost lost my mind waiting. It took almost about 1 hour? (There were about 2 more teams ahead of me) - But in other words, it meant they look at consultations very thoroughly, so I waited. - The surgical method was 1. because I have a slight hump, shaving it down (no osteotomy) 2. inserting 3.5-4 mm silicone 3. building the nasal tip with septal cartilage or cartilage from one ear (but since my nose bridge isn’t high, he said I likely don’t have much septal cartilage, so I should assume ear cartilage would be used) - He said they don’t take a CT unless it’s for functional nose surgery. - If ear cartilage is used, they give you an ear mold, and you have to wear it. - The consultation manager was very trustworthy (of course, the consultation manager isn’t the one doing the surgery) - When I asked something indirectly, she clearly understood my needs and answered - After-service was 3 years, I think - For aftercare, the director checks, and if needed, there are swelling injections (aside from the basic kit, I think you should assume there’s almost nothing else)
Overall review - The director looked a bit tired (his eyes looked slightly red). After my consultation ended, he went straight upstairs for surgery, and someone at the desk warmed up porridge and carried it upstairs. When I was consulting with the manager, I asked how many surgeries the director does per day, and she said during peak season he does almost 4 or more a day, but still goes to the gym every day. Was that too much small talk?? Anyway, from what I felt, I didn’t become certain enough about ㅁㅇ to change what I had originally wanted, so I decided to do it at ㅇㅇㅇㅋ.
