I had always had a lot of concerns about my bulbous nose, and this time I had nose surgery for the first time! I did it with autologous costal cartilage, and since it is my own tissue, I thought there would be fewer side effects and the result would look more natural. Actually, before surgery I was worried about the scar from harvesting autologous costal cartilage, and now it has been one month since the surgery, you know? The scar has faded a lot, and I think if I manage it well, it won’t be noticeable. At first it felt a little stiff and sore, but it is getting better~ I also had rhinitis surgery at the same time, and breathing is so much better. Since I did cosmetic nose surgery + functional nose surgery together, I think it was really successful!
I really love the shape of my nose! Before surgery, my bridge was low and my nasal tip was round, so my impression looked a bit stuffy, but now the bridge has been raised beautifully and the nasal tip has been lifted slightly, so my face looks much more defined and refined. There is still a little swelling left, but I am already so satisfied with the current state, and every time I look in the mirror I feel really happy!
And around the one-week mark, I washed my face, and it felt so refreshing and clean. At first it was uncomfortable because I couldn’t even wash my face, but once I was able to wash it, it felt like I had returned to daily life ㅠ!
Since it was my first time, I was very nervous, but the hospital gave me a thorough consultation and explained the postoperative care methods in detail, so I think recovery was easier than expected. I have been steadily applying compresses and scar ointment, and I think the swelling is also going down quickly.
Now my nose is settling into place more and more naturally, so I’m looking forward to it even more. For people who are concerned about a bulbous nose like I was, I would like to recommend rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage. Don’t just worry about it, give it a try!
