My second revision surgery was on September 18, 2019, so a lot of time has passed.
For my first surgery, about 9 years ago, I had about a 4 mm silicone implant inserted, and I originally had almost no nasal bridge. As time passed, the bridge of my nose also moved from side to side, sometimes throbbed, and sometimes swelled up badly ㅜㅜ Later, my nostrils started turning upward. I honestly didn't even know that was a side effect. Nostrils, nostrils ㅜㅜ Like in the photo, only my nostrils were visible.
When I looked into it, it turned out to be a side effect called contracture. Since this is a side effect, would simply removing the silicone fix it? ㅜㅜ I learned that it would become even more contracted, and I wanted to remove this implant and looked for revision surgery that would not cause further contracture and would have no side effects. Honestly, it was so scary ㅜㅜ. Revision surgery in my life... I felt scared ㅜㅜ After having a child, I got hit a lot by my child (my son is active, so when he flails around, if I'm next to him, I often get hit in the nose ㅠㅠ) I think that probably made it worse. Anyway, while searching with the keyword side effects, I found a place that uses dermis from the buttocks, and the consultation alone took a full hour, explaining every step from A to Z.. Hmm..... Now that it's been over a year since surgery, I want to write at length, but I'm not good at writing, so in one sentence, I thought this clinic's surgeon's heart for his patients was like Heo Jun. He is tenderhearted but tsundere lol, and he looks after patients well until the end.
Autologous dermis, unlike implants, can be extremely high after surgery until the dermis is absorbed, but if you can endure that, I think the best advantage is that you can live with a safe nose that feels like your own, without implants.
So I chose safety with autologous dermis rather than another implant. It feels like I bought insurance for a safe nose of my own, and I'm very satisfied now.
