<First surgery (septal strut + ear cartilage)><Septal strut removal>This review is based on my own experience, so it may be subjective. Please take it with a grain of salt!!
I went in to improve my wide-looking nose, and they suggested raising it with a septal strut and ear cartilage, so I kept saying I wanted it natural and had the surgery.
As a result, only my nasal tip became higher, giving me a beak-like shape and pointiness; when I smiled, my tip looked like it was about to drop and my hooked nose became worse; and the cartilage in my nasal tip became visible. Even when I said I wanted it removed, the clinic only kept saying it was pretty, didn’t understand me, and said they had never done removal surgery, so I went around looking for a clinic for removal.
1. Apgujeong, person-name clinic: 3.1 million won. They said if I removed it, everything would just go back to how it was. The doctor seemed kind, but something felt offㅠ 2. Hongdae: 2.75 million won. Authoritarian attitude, and whenever I asked something, they sighedㅋㅋ pass 3. Apgujeong, English-name clinic: 2.7 million won. Hmm, the doctor said less than I expected. The consultant was very kind. There were only good reviews everywhere, but the previous clinic had been listed as blacklisted, so I suspected brokers and passed. 4. 3 million. It has been getting attention recently, so I went. I thought it would have been nice if I had done my first surgery here, but I just wasn’t certain, so I passed. 5. They said the doctor came out from a place where my friend had done very well a long time ago and opened a separate clinic. They quoted 4.5 million won, so I passed. I should have done my first surgery here,,ㅠ
6. Lastly, I went to the place where my younger sibling’s surgery turned out well: 2.7 million. This place doesn’t advertise; people go after hearing about it through word of mouth. They said they had been in the same location for 15 years. Unlike removal-specialist clinics that charge consultation fees and don’t even consult properly, they explained very well from what I wanted to what they could do for me... It was the moment I understood why surgery reviews say not to trust only removal-specialist clinics.
After everything was finished on the operating table, they showed me in the mirror that this was how the shape would come out, so I saw my pre-swelling appearance in the mirror before leaving. The clinic removed the nasal packing before I left, so I didn’t have to breathe through my mouth. Maybe because it was a removal surgery, strangely I haven’t had swelling up to week 1 (I bought a bunch of pumpkin juice too,,) I’m going to get the tape removed today~~
Until I removed it, for a year I went into this community every day to the point where people around me said it was an obsession, and I worried a lot, but now that I actually did it, I feel so relieved,, Now, even if my nose shape is weird, I never want to lie on an operating table againㅠ Once I made up my mind that I wanted it removed, I kept thinking about it. I think the most important thing is to go for consultations and choose the place that feels right!! Also, posts here say it will collapse or droop, but hearing it from a doctor at a consultation is the most accurate, so don’t be too scared, and filter out brokers well!! There are a lot in this community tooㅠㅠ
---I got the tape removed, and although it’s still full of swelling, it looks similar to my original noseㅎ The doctor who removed it said the ear cartilage hadn’t been finished properly and they had just closed it as-is. I guess that’s why it was trying to protrude like that. Ha, seriously. I don’t even want to go near that clinic in Sinnonhyeon.
