I received a lot of help from this community, so I’m posting a review at least. 7 years ago, I ended up getting nose surgery without much thought after a doctor recommended it, and from right after the surgery, I had side effects such as my nose looking crooked, so I underwent about 5 revision surgeries. I think somewhere in my heart, knowingly or unknowingly, I always had the thought that I would need to have it removed someday. Then the timing worked out, and I had removal surgery. For choosing a hospital, I was thinking of getting consultations at about 2 of the top 3 hospitals I learned about in this community and then deciding, but the first hospital I consulted at (Hongdae) felt trustworthy, so I decided after just that one consultation. The parts that made me trust them were the doctor’s impression, reviews in this community, and what the doctor said (that there was no possibility of it lifting, that they could release the pinched area, and that there was no possibility of the nasal tip spreading). At the time of removal surgery, the condition of my nose was that during the last of my 5 surgeries, the artificial-looking silicone had been removed (capsule removal x), and the nasal tip had been manipulated with ear cartilage and AlloDerm, and the columella with silicone. And for the removal surgery, I had an open approach to straighten the nasal ala (because the left side had been pinched), capsule removal, and complete removal of the nasal tip and columella materials. I’m now on day 6, and the day after tomorrow I’m going to have the stitches removed. I am worried about the open-surgery scar and the scar tissue visible from the side, but inside I feel really relieved. Looking through reviews here, it seems that surgery costs keep rising as time goes by, and the degree of contracture progression and skin deformation also become worse over time. So if you have decided that you need removal, I hope you won’t suffer alone inside, but will go for consultations and ask what your nose will be like after removal surgery, and whether removal can be done while maintaining up to the appropriate line you have set for yourself. I also couldn’t sleep from worrying, and even after consultations I was still worried, so I stayed up all night searching for reviews.. Still, after getting consultations, I was able to decide that I needed removal right away, and I also got some direction on what exactly I should be worrying about..? I’ll end the review here.
