Before <before surgery>Before <before surgery>After <week 1>After <week 1>After <around 1 month>After <around 3 months>After <around 3 months>When people talk about facial contouring surgery, to be honest, many probably think of it as a really major surgery. I also thought it was an extremely major surgery right up until I had it, and even just before the surgery I was so scared that I kept thinking, should I cancel? What should I do? lol Since it is not a surgery you can get as lightly as eyes or nose surgery, I thought everyone here, like I did, might be debating a lot over whether they should have the surgery, so I’m going to briefly write down what I thought, what I felt, what it was like before surgery, and what it was like after surgery!
First of all, my face was large and angular. Because my face was relatively large for a woman and my face shape was angular, it gave the impression that my flaws stood out more! I kept thinking of facial contouring surgery as the answer, but because I felt burdened by the thought that it would be almost on the level of surgery at a university hospital, I don’t think I could make the decision easily.
To start with the conclusion, I’m not trying to force surgery on anyone, but it is true that facial contouring surgery is a major surgery, and it would be a lie to say the recovery period is not difficult. However, it was much less difficult than I had imagined before surgery, and the sense of relief(?) and happiness after surgery seem to far outweigh the burden.
Because I thought of it as university-hospital-level surgery, I had the surgery at a large hospital that really had a university-hospital-level scale. Maybe because of that, after the surgery they admitted me to the hospital, and they did a lot of things for various aspects of care. I’m not sure whether it was because of this or not, but I think I recovered smoothly.
The pain after surgery was more manageable than I expected, and while receiving aftercare, feeling the swelling gradually go down and the face become softer enough to actually notice it seems to be one of the enjoyable parts. In the early period after surgery, my mouth didn’t open well, so there were quite a few restrictions on eating, but as you recover, your mouth opens better too, so it’s good to take good care of yourself in the beginning haha For mouthwash, TheraBreath green was the least spicy for me, and I had already been using it normally, so I just kept using that.
I’m originally the type whose swelling does not go down very easily, so even at the one-month mark I thought the swelling had not gone down quite as much as I wanted, but once about three months had passed, the swelling really went down in a way I liked, and as my face is gradually settling into place, my satisfaction is getting higher haha
Now sensation is also slowly coming back, and even when eating out, I used to check the mirror constantly because I had no sensation, but amazingly, it really is gradually coming back lolololol And as for the effect, I’m really happy. It feels like all the complexes I had until now have been resolved, and my self-esteem has gone up a lot too. Anyway, I wrote this briefly, but I think it would be good for everyone who is considering facial contouring surgery to use as a reference!
