Hello. This is my 7-year review after two-jaw surgery. I had two-jaw surgery because my jaw was larger than others' and I had a protruding lower jaw. My occlusion was normal, but I spent my school years depressed because of stress over my appearance. Then, after graduating high school, I ended up getting two-jaw surgery at ㅇㅇㄷ Plastic Surgery in Gangnam. To start with the conclusion, my appearance did improve, but it is not completely the look I wanted, my facial asymmetry became worse, and although the dental occlusion on the left side fits, the right side does not, so even now my upper and lower molars on the right side do not touch. My surgery was not for the purpose of functional improvement, and before having it done, my stress over my appearance was severe, so I do not regret it. However, I am afraid of what kind of side effects this may show up as when I get older later on.
I had the surgery from the head doctor on the ID signboard (the doctor who operated on comedian ㄱㅇㅁ), and I remember how, after the surgery, when I raised concerns about the occlusion and asymmetry problems, he responded insincerely and vaguely. For those who do not have functional problems but are considering two-jaw surgery, please make sure to look into it carefully before doing it!
