On January 3, I had silicone, septal extension with donated costal cartilage + septal cartilage, ear cartilage for the nasal tip, soft-tissue removal, and nostril reduction. On July 23, at a hospital located in Hongdae, my septal cartilage was weak, so they left only part of it and removed everything else.
As you can probably see in the photos too, my original nose was a short, upturned bulbous nose.
I went to a total of 5 consultations for removal.
1. Hospital ㅍ: You absolutely must not remove it. If you remove it, the nose will lift a lot and the columella will curl in a lot. Let’s remove only the silicone and donated costal cartilage, build a support with ear cartilage, and make it similar to your original nose shape. 2. Hospital ㅅ: I can’t be certain, but since your original nose was upturned and your operated nose is lower than that, there is a high chance it will end up in an intermediate shape, meaning lower than your original nose but more upturned than your operated nose. Columellar retraction cannot be predicted, but there are usually certain types that develop columellar retraction, and you do not fall into those types, so it is expected to be okay. 3. Hospital ㅇ: We can make it even prettier than your original nose. (I filtered them out immediately because of this comment) 4. Hospital ㄱ: There is absolutely no chance it will lift more than your original nose. In the case of columellar retraction, it may occur temporarily during the scar-contraction phase, but it will return over time. You originally did not have much of a columella, and it will just return to about that level. 5. Hospital ㅂ (the hospital for my first surgery): It will return to your original nose. The person who did the surgery knows best. We only touched it slightly, so there is nothing particularly risky.
Based on these consultation results, I narrowed it down to two hospitals and went for another consultation right before removal.
1. Hospital ㅅ: Same as above 2. Hospital ㄱ: Same as above + your original nose is possible, but if you want, we can make the nose slightly lower so it is between your original nose and operated nose
I trusted Hospital ㄱ more, so as I mentioned above, I had surgery there on July 23, and because the remaining septal cartilage was too weak, they left only part of the septal cartilage and removed everything else.
For the nose shape, I wanted something between my original nose and operated nose, so it is lower than my original nose and more upturned than my operated nose. Fortunately, maybe the contraction phase came and I just didn’t notice, but I have reached the third month without a contraction phase.
At my final checkup yesterday, they said my nose had become much softer, and although the nasal tip is still firm, I can make a pig nose, pick my nose hard... haha, and rub it too!
