Last December, I had surgery at an ENT clinic located near Jonggak Station (it has moved to Sinsa Station now): deviated septum surgery (+ inferior turbinate resection), nasal tip cartilage repositioning (including cartilage tying), and hooked nose surgery!
I just took my after photos today and am on my way out after my final appointment haha. I’m writing this in case it might help even a little for those considering nose surgery:)

1. Why I chose this hospital
I had been looking into many hospitals starting a year before surgery, doing both online research and in-person consultations, and the reasons I ultimately chose this place were: First, their emphasis on no implants (though honestly my nose didn’t need an implant anyway,,) Second, thorough post-procedure care (I went to the hospital very often: after 1 day, after 3 days, after 7 days, like that!) Third, they specialize in closed surgery These were the biggest reasons I chose this hospital! My skin is the type that scars very easily, so I was set on absolutely doing the surgery by a closed approach haha
2. Surgery I don’t know if it was because of safety, but unlike other hospitals, this hospital performed the surgery under local anesthesia instead of sedation. So I could vividly hear the sounds of my nasal bone being shaved and broken.. ha I really kept my whole body tense for nearly 3 hours Still, I didn’t have to worry about a shadow doctor!
3. Surgery review
First, rhinitis surgery It wasn’t like, wow, a whole new world, but more like, I can breathe..? Honestly, I don’t feel a huge before-and-after difference, but well... I guess it got better?
Second, nasal tip cartilage repositioning (cartilage tying) You can’t tell from the front haha. When I saw the front-view before and after photos, I thought, what changed..? But! Looking at photos taken from below, I could definitely see that the nasal tip had come together and become higher, and that the columella had lengthened too! Ah, one thing I overlooked was that as the nasal tip lifted, my nostrils became more visible, from both the front and the side (the director said it could be because of swelling). Especially from the side, nostril show increased a lot! This is one of the parts I regret about the surgery!
Third, hooked nose Those considering hooked nose surgery, listen carefully ⭐ If you shave down the hump, the nasal bridge will definitely become wider (the highlight disappears!) Honestly, it’s only natural, since the slim upper part has been cut off..! So if you get hooked nose surgery, whether you put in silicone (if you’re okay with implants!) or have osteotomy, make sure to preserve the highlight.
