I visited for a consultation on February 18, 2023. While talking about actual-expense insurance, they mentioned reimbursement if I had rhinitis surgery, so I paid 7.9 million KRW for my first surgery. When the splint was removed, the side next to the bridge of my nose was protruding, and the skin was a bit dark and indented.
They said it would be hard to get an injection right away and that we should watch the progress, so I visited about every 3 to 4 months to check my nose condition (from the provinces to Seoul).
When I went on October 18, 2023, they said now either an injection or surgery seemed possible, but an injection probably wouldn’t work, and they recommended opening it up and inserting dermis.
But what’s important to me here is They said the surgery fee would be free, but I would have to pay the dermis material cost and anesthesia fee to operate on the indentation and protrusion. Was I just supposed to endure more than a year of stress, not even being able to take a single proper photo, and naturally wait..? I was so stressed. I had already had revision surgery, and another scar would form on the columella, so I didn’t want to open it, but they recommended opening it for surgery. Then I said the nasal tip felt lifted, so how about doing revision surgery, and they told me to pay 2.8 million KRW, so I paid and had the surgery. Even looking at it now, I wonder if this is really a nose that cost 7.9 million plus another 2.8 million.. On top of that, medication costs of 100,000 KRW each time I had surgery.. and transportation costs of at least over 200,000 KRW.. The photo with an emoticon sticker and a red circle is the most recent photo.. I had revision surgery because of the indentation and protrusion in my nose, but it’s still protruding. When I went to the hospital for my 1-month follow-up, they said to either get an injection after 3 months or watch the progress. Is this right...?
