I originally didn’t really think about getting nose surgery, and although I had a slightly hump nose + long nose + arrow-shaped nose, my nasal bridge was high, and if I didn’t mention it myself.. it wasn’t to the point where other people would point it out. I didn’t particularly have a complex about it, and I was just reasonably satisfied living with itㅠㅠ
But before an important day, I tried a nose procedure (Hiko) once. But it failed spectacularly lol ㅠ First of all, the shape wasn’t the issue; the thread kept sticking out of my nose, and even when it was repeatedly cut (the original clinic cut it for me), it didn’t resolve, so holes kept forming at the nasal tip and the thread was visible, and I just went around with DuoDERM stuck on it..
So I went around for consultations mainly for removal + while I was at it, the nasal tip?
First, when I searched for Hiko removal / Hiko nasal tip surgery, the place that came up the most was
1. Sinnonhyeon Station ㅍㄹㅈ The doctor and consultant were kind, and the atmosphere was calm. It was my first clinic so I didn’t know anything, but there was a CT fee (10,000 won?) They explained things well. The removal fee was 300,000 won (thread only) - other places quoted 500,000-550,000 won.
Nasal osteotomy (not hump osteotomy, but they said the nasal bone was large sideways, that part?), and for implant-free surgery, about septal cartilage + ear cartilage for the nasal tip. If I made a same-day reservation + wrote a review, I think it was in the low-to-mid 3 million won range. Since it was my first place, I didn’t know whether that was expensive or what, so I made a reservation first (later I realized it was actually on the cheaper side). They seemed to have done many cases like mine, so I debated between this place and the final one until the endㅠㅠ
2. Sinsa ㅋㅇ Here, the doctor told me to just remove it, and didn’t recommend nose surgery.. But the removal fee was almost as much as nose surgeryㅠㅠ At other places they do it with an open approach (removal), but I guess here it’s a closed approach..? If I were only going to remove it, this place looked specialized so I thought about doing it here, but the price was too expensive, so I ended up thinking, if that’s the case, I’d rather just get the nose surgery! Anyway, they only charged me a 5,000 won consultation fee. The consultant was kind. The doctor was also professional.. They also analyzed why my nose was the kind that would fail with Hikoㅠ
3. Sinnonhyeon ㅊㄷㅊ Here, the consultation fee + CT fee was the most expensive (25,000 won), and despite that, the consultant was the least friendly and the wait time was the longest. A friend who had the exact same Hiko failure as me (thread extrusion..) recommended it because she got her nose done here. That friend’s result looked natural and good haha
Here too, they said osteotomy + nasal tip only, implant-free (septal cartilage).. Honestly, I didn’t want to use ear cartilage, so I was drawn to this place, but the price was way too expensive. It was the most expensive among the places I went toㅠ And since I don’t really have many functional issues, while this doctor is an ENT specialist.. The consultant did bring up that I do have rhinitis and they could process it as functional nose surgery through indemnity insurance, but I don’t have indemnity insurance, so well.. For reference, they also pushed reservations the least haha
4. Where I ended up doing it A close doctor friend knew I was struggling because of my nose and introduced me to a plastic surgery clinic.. If it hadn’t been well-known or anything, I was planning to go to clinic no. 1, but the doctor was also well-known in this community and famous, so I had a consultation, and it didn’t seem like there was overtreatment (they didn’t recommend osteotomy, etc.), and I figured someone introduced by an acquaintance might be better (they also discounted the price a lot..), so anticlimactically, that’s how it happened..
