I had surgery at the ENT clinic that comes up the most when you search on Naver! It was a deviated septum + rhinitis + nasal valve issue + crooked nose lolololol (a total mess)
There aren't many reviews in this community about functional nose surgery at ENT clinics, so I struggled a lot looking for informationㅠㅠ I'm leaving a review for people with the same concerns~
What made me decide on surgery was when a younger acquaintance told me it looked like a bone was protruding from my nose! I'm the type to live without thinking too much, so I had never even considered rhinoplasty, but then I suddenly remembered that my dad had surgery for a deviated septum! I thought it might be a genetic issue, so I went to the hospital, and they said it was quite crooked and that surgery would be bestㅠㅠ
My nose was definitely curved in a C-shape, so it was hard to breathe through the left side, and the bone on the left nasal bridge protruded slightly, making my nose look even more crooked and making my facial asymmetry stand out, so I decided to have surgery!
Since it was a surgery that had to address both function and shape, I searched around a lot... I didn't want a columellar incision, so I was looking for a non-incisional option, and I thought it made sense to prioritize nasal function over appearance, so I decided to have it done at an ENT clinic!
The place I chose had extremely divided reviews (there was even a post in this community from someone saying their life was ruined after having surgery thereㅠㅠㅠ), so I worried a lot right up until the surgery and decided after asking around by leaving comments on blogs and cafes! The temptation of a director with a lot of surgical experience + non-incisional surgery + dissolvable sutures was huge haha
The surgery was done under sedation anesthesia and took a little over an hour, so it ended quickly. My nasal bridge wasn't bad, so the doctor recommended adding cartilage to the nasal tip to bring it out and make it look pretty. I wanted a straight nose, so even after adding cartilage, they added a little dermis so the nose would be straight! As a result, I think it was corrected naturally and well~
At first, it seemed too high and artificial, but by week 3, the swelling went down and it changed into a natural line! I like it exactly as it is now, so I hope it doesn't drop any more lolol On the left side where the bone used to protrude, a very slight contour irregularity is visible, but compared to before, it has become completely smooth, so I'm satisfied :) The right-side line is really sleek haha
Every winter, my left nostril would get blocked and living with a runny nose was my everyday lifeㅠ Breathing has also become comfortable, so I'm really happy haha
Maybe because the hospital focuses a little more on function than nose shape, there are definitely more men there when you visit lolol But I recommend it to people who want a natural-looking nose!!
