Before-before-after-after-after-after First of all, it’s been three months since I had facial contouring surgery, and the swelling around my mouth still hasn’t gone down completely. It took one month for the major swelling to go down and two months for the minor swelling to go down. I think there’s still a little swelling around my mouth. Honestly, it’s true that I regretted it up until the one-month mark. As you can tell from my photos before surgery, honestly, my face wasn’t the type that would show a dramatic effect. Aside from my jaw area protruding quite a bit, I was only thinking of slightly refining the lines of my cheekbones and chin tip. Even during the consultation, I said I didn’t want to look like someone who had obviously had facial contouring surgery, but wanted it to be improved naturally lol When I consulted with the director, they didn’t strongly recommend anything in particular either, and said it would probably look prettier to do it naturally.
But whether you shave a lot or a little, swelling is unavoidable. Honestly, I think it differs from person to person, but mine seemed to last on the longer side. They say it goes down quickly if you take walks and things like that, so it might also be because I didn’t do those things.
Anyway, I really regretted it and struggled a lot until the two-month mark. Then at two months, I went to the clinic and got one swelling injection, and from then on it went down dramatically. I don’t know whether the swelling injection worked really well or whether swelling normally starts going down like this from month two lol
Now I’m at three months, and everything has gone down except the swelling around my mouth. The jawline and facial line I had in mind are starting to show, so for now I’m really happy, and since I’ve experienced the swelling going down once, I’m waiting with a calmer mind. I’m hoping that from the six-month mark, all the minor swelling will be completely gone and it’ll look much better. Facial contouring surgery is honestly a heavier surgery than I expected, and swelling can last a long time depending on the person, so I hope people who are planning facial contouring or who have had it and still have swelling will use this as a reference. I’m writing this because it seems like a lot of people here are thinking the same thing as me. (I’m uploading the photos with my eyes covered.)
+Also, I had it done at a large clinic. I haven’t had surgery at a small clinic so I don’t know, but it’s true that large clinics are definitely overwhelmingly better than other clinics in terms of things like post-op swelling care, so I hope you keep that in mind.
