Ophthalmology LASEK 6-month review

I got LASEK at ㅅㅁㅇ this January and am leaving a review.

At the time of the eye exam, my vision in both eyes was around -0.2, and everything else was within the average range. The only unusual points were: 1. My pupils were slightly larger than average 2. I had a bit of dry eye syndrome 3. My corneal curvature was unusual That was about it.

For points 1 and 2, even when I wore glasses, if I did not clean them well, lights would spread out like glare, and I did not even know I had dry eye syndrome. Maybe because I am pretty unfazed by things, even now there is nothing that bothers me much. (In the early post-op period, at night the glare spread enough for me to feel it, but now it is not enough to bother me much.)

Because of point 3, they suggested adding the Extra procedure to my left eye to compensate for? the corneal curvature.

So I proceeded with left-eye Extra + ㅌㄷㅇ LASEK in both eyes.

The surgery process was really nothing special: they put something in my eyes.. wiped them.. zapped them with the laser.. did something extra to my left eye.. and it was over quickly. I only remember the waiting time being longer and more tiring.

In the early post-op period, I diligently put in eye drops and went for eye exams every month. Even during the eye exams, there were no particular issues, and I was told how to manage things, like putting certain drops in a bit more and spacing out others more.

After 3 regular checkups, I am currently no longer visiting the hospital.

After 6 months, the thing I find uncomfortable? is that when I wake up in the morning, my eyes sometimes feel scratchy? as if there is a foreign body in them. When that happens, I put in artificial tears before washing my face, with my eyes slightly open, and it gets better right away.

My current vision is 1.0 in the left eye and 1.5 in the right eye, so they are slightly uneven, but I do not feel much discomfort. I am just so happy to go around without glasses lololol

I hope this helps everyone when considering surgery~!
