First, I often used double eyelid tape or double eyelid glue, so my eyelids had become stretched out. Because of that, an incisional method was essential. My biggest concern was that my eyes were short horizontally, like small clam-shaped eyes, so I wanted lateral lower canthoplasty, but from the time I was going around for consultations, every hospital said the effect probably wouldn’t be very significant. So I gave up on lateral lower canthoplasty and only had ptosis correction, incisional double eyelid surgery, and epicanthoplasty.
First of all, the director in charge looked tired both during the consultation and on the surgery day. I didn’t exactly distrust the surgery itself, but on the surgery day, when marking the line, he only drew the double eyelid design at first, then a little later said, “Oh right, you’re also doing epicanthoplasty, aren’t you?” and drew the epicanthoplasty line. Seeing that made me quite anxious. In the end, the double eyelid surgery was successful, and the epicanthoplasty was all fine too. But I chose this hospital because of the aftercare, and unless you live close enough to the hospital to go often for swelling laser treatments, I think it’s fine to just have eye surgery somewhere without aftercare (swelling laser).
