Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

20.05.07 Removal Update (Couldn’t delete photos, so posting text only again…)

A few days ago, I tried to delete the photos from a post I wrote, but I couldn’t because of comments. So I’m posting it again. I attached only the side view of my nose and removed the rest (poof). I also checked the 5-month photos; even then, compared to now, the swelling was fully puffy. The swelling keeps going down, and the nose is also getting slimmer, so don’t worry.

Additional+ The reason I chose this hospital is because, among the hospitals I checked, it had the fewest unpleasant/complaint reviews. I chose my hospital after checking complications. I know you’ve probably researched a lot too (I’ll never mention hospital names). Some places say, “don’t lie down with your head that way.” Some have a tendency for one alar side to lift in many patients. Some often say they should leave the support scaffold and not do total removal. And at one of those hospitals, they said, ‘We won’t touch my nose. If we do surgery, they said it would need to be rebuilt like a traffic-accident surgery where they split the skull.’ ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋThey said, ‘Just leave it as is.’ ㅋ I don’t know why, but what the surgeon at the clinic where I had it removed said was still in my mind: ‘If you’re thinking about removal, shouldn’t there be a reason that big?’ People who want re-surgery don’t even think about removal. If there is so much hardship, haven’t you even thought about removal at least once? Think carefully and come back. Those words still stick with me.

Even without rhinoplasty, I learned after ending up with removal after multiple surgeries that I can live well.

First, the nose is still swelling down. In the early period after removal, due to swelling, I lived in a fantasy thinking, “Oh, was my natural nose like this?” Even up to 7–8 months, it keeps steadily decreasing. And in the frontal view, the feeling of being spread out and puffy keeps disappearing too.

I removed all silicone, auricular cartilage, and septal cartilage.

After 3–4 months from removal, the community also stopped entering, and all the stress about my nose disappeared. I stopped having thoughts of wanting to die. Social avoidance also disappeared. Even my own self who used to cry in front of the mirror is gradually fading. Even now I don’t have to worry whether my nose will be okay. The melted/dripping silicone is also gone, and I stopped avoiding photos on the bent silicone side. There is no smell pain either.

It’s really good.

It’s a low, not-beautiful nose, but it is my face, so I’ll love and live with it.

While considering removal or revision surgery again, I faced surgery refusals and suffered as if I would die, but there is a path. To everyone considering removal or reconstruction, stay strong. I hope all surgeries go well and you stay happy...

<If you see my previous posts, all the surgeries I had are listed.>
