But I still didn’t like it. I didn’t have any major side effects, and while I was debating materials, autologous costal cartilage versus donated rib cartilage, a friend who was thinking about it with me had revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage, so I was introduced to Director Kim Hyun-joo.

I only looked at full cases using autologous costal cartilage for the nasal bridge, but they said she was someone who knew how to do it, and that she specializes in doing surgeries mostly with autologous costal cartilage, so I went for a consultation. Maybe because it’s a one-doctor clinic, it felt much more meticulous, and the consultation wasn’t rushed. She kept asking what I was curious about, and clearly and honestly pointed out the areas that could be improved and the parts that might still be disappointing, so I was satisfied for the second time. I really understood why people go to private clinics.
During the consultation, she showed before-and-after photos, and revision surgery for contracted noses turned out very dramatic and pretty. I had seen a lot of comments saying that if costal cartilage is used for the nasal bridge, warping can occur, but she explained so well, almost like giving a lecture, how she operates to prevent warping, and even wrote notes for me.. I had autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip and entire bridge, plus nasolabial angle correction + an added short-nose correction option.
And she said that once the autologous rib incision site heals, if I come in for follow-up, they’ll also provide scar laser treatment as a service with no limit on the number of sessions, so after finishing all my consultations, I made a reservation and went.
Since it was my first time with autologous costal cartilage, the harvested area hurt a little at first, but it got better quickly. I like the shape too.. I think the major swelling is gone now, and I received swelling tape. The director personally taught me how to apply it, so I think I learned much faster?? I was a bit surprised to see that the director also personally removed the stitches; I wanted to get rid of the residual swelling too, so after reading a complete swelling-care summary post in this community, I bought Tripline, Baenosin, and Newvein, and I’ll hope the remaining swelling goes down quickly too lol
