<Original nose> then <4 months after removal (current)> then <Contracture period (1 month after removal)> then <Contracture period (1 month after removal)><Original nose><Original nose><Contracture period><Current> About 3 months ago, I posted a concern on the forum saying I thought the contracture period had started, and many people were curious about how I look now after 3 months, so I’m sharing. I’m 4 months post-op.
To start with the conclusion, I’m overcoming it well.
When I posted my concern, I was at 1 month, and suddenly my nose felt like it was being pulled tight, the columella seemed to sink in, and my nose looked lifted overall. I was really anxious.
I had the removal simply because of psychological anxiety, and before removal, the doctor said they couldn’t guarantee the shape and that leaving it as it was would be best, but I didn’t change my mind. But at 1 month, without knowing whether it was the contracture period or what, I became scared when I saw the shape getting strange.
My original nose was also a very bulbous nose among bulbous noses, with a lot that could be surgically corrected. One characteristic was that my columella was originally recessed.
Surgery: alar reduction, nasal tip elevation using septal cartilage, columellar lengthening (all materials were septal cartilage)
Removal: removed everything (septal cartilage) (The doctor asked whether it might be better to leave a little of the internal septum, saying the nose could collapse, but I wanted everything removed.)
@Hard nasal tip @Pig nose These were also things I worried about a lot. The hard nasal tip made up a large part of my psychological anxiety. They definitely said they removed everything, but even after removal, my nasal tip was hard. But they said I could only really talk about the hardness after 6 months had passed. I think it may get a little softer with more time. Or it may no longer have the softness of my original nose. It is definitely much softer than during the contracture period.
My current nose is not perfectly the same shape as my original nose, but I still have no regrets at all about removing it.
I hope this helps even a little for those who are worried after removal, or those who are worried about what will happen if they remove it.
