A Review Just Over 2 Weeks After Nose Removal!

It’s been 2 weeks already and I’m heading into week 3 All the side-view photos in the pictures are after removal The height changes a little depending on the angle and direction Removal date: 210421 Photo taken on: 210508

I took photos carefully because I wanted to post them at 2 weeks, but in one way or another I’m only posting them nowㅠ

First, the biggest worry was the upturn! Right after the splint came off, when they handed me a hand mirror, my nose looked lifted and I was shaking so badly back then, but now it has come down (it looks just slightly like a surgical nose) Right now the alae feel a bit softer! I don’t know when the numb, swollen feeling at the tip will go away, but when I asked the hospital, they said that even though they didn’t use septal cartilage, because there was so much scar tissue it would stay firm like this until about 6 months Ah, the columella still feels a bit puffy too

The bulbous tip is better than before, but it’s still there Still, it’s thinner than my original nose, and if I wanted it thinner than this, I’d have to raise the tip like before, so I gave up..! That was such a big source of stress that I decided to get nose surgery and went through with it, but Even if it’s not completely back to the way it was before, a bulbous tip again ..ㅋㅋ I heard that during the day I should remove the tape to stay active, and put it on at night, but I even go to work bare-faced, and I still don’t have the confidence to face my puffy nostrils, so I’m keeping it on during the day too When I asked whether that was okay, they said I was doing very well ..ㅎ

Columella incision scar! I honestly don’t care about this part. It’ll be covered with makeup anyway And since I’m short, who’s going to be looking from below? ㅋㅋ I’m not planning to hide it anyway Even so, I think the columella scar is healing pretty well from what I can see. When I sent photos to the hospital, they said that if the scar looked like this at 2 weeks, it seemed to be healing well I’m not exactly sure what they mean by columella curling? but it doesn’t feel like that The columella swelling just hasn’t gone down enough yet haha I didn’t edit out the columella scar or this part, so if I can add it later or when I write my 1-month review, I’ll upload it then

Also, when I sent the 2-week progress photos (my house is far away so I sent photos instead of going in person) they said the contraction phase might start soon Maybe I’m just dull, or maybe it’s still far off, but so far everything is fine

And um It seems there’s no exact official name for this septal graft they used It’s not septal extension! But I can’t say it’s not a septal extension? My case itself was because the first surgery was too shaved down and the tip seemed like it might turn up, it was a correction to compensate for that shaved-down area and keep it from turning up, so it may have become a little longer than my original nose? Something like that, so it was hard to give it a precise name like nasal-tip septal support strut (no strut was done, just an example!) ~ septal extension ~

Maybe that’s enough for now??

Ah, not being able to blow my nose means the mucus crusts... are no joke. It’s bothering me, so I’ve been cleaning it lightly with a cotton swab!

I don’t know exactly when the contraction phase will come, but I hope it passes safely and I can finally be free
