Yesterday marked 2 weeks since surgery, so I had the internal stitches removed, and since it's past midnight, today is day 15.
The photo was taken yesterday after I went to the hospital, but my skin looked so bad that I edited it, and the bruising got completely covered.. lol In reality, there is still a wide light-green bruise on the bridge of my nose, and the nasal tip still looks dark and patchy, like it was sooted by coal briquettes. I'm assuming it will go away, but the bruise on the nasal tip bothers meㅠㅠ
Right now, my glabella feels slightly heavy, like a stone is sitting on it, and it feels like the bone and skin are stuck tightly together. When I lift my eyebrows upward, it feels like something is holding them down, and the area from the columella to the philtrum and around the nostrils feels extremely tight. Even when I yawn, it feels like someone is holding my nostrils.. When I talk, smile, or eat, my philtrum and nose keep feeling tight. Has the contracture phase already started? lolㅠㅠ I thought it was because of the stitches, but it still continues even after removal. (Is this a symptom of the contracture phaseㅠㅠ? Anyone who knows~~)
When I wake up in the morning my nose is very swollen, then it goes down again once I move around. Parts of the nasal bridge and nasal tip have dull sensation, and the nasal alae are very firm.
Inside my nose, I keep feeling like bugs are crawling and a prickling sensation, but I think that's just part of the wounds healing.
I was really worried about the columellar scar because my first surgery was also open approach, but there is only lighter redness left than I expected, and the hospital said it should be fine once the swelling goes down.
What I feel when I take photos and look in the mirror is that it looks like a mix of my natural nose + a surgically done nose. Right after the splint was first removed, I was shocked because the glabella looked pressed down, but the nasal bridge is slowly coming back, and my acquaintances say they can see my old face again lol It will all settle once the swelling goes down, right..? lol
When I had silicone, I hated the chalk-like nasal bridge, but after removal, the lower bridge seems to suit my face better, so I like it, but then as the bridge comes back, it makes my face look long, so I dislike that too.. And then thinking it will sink down completely once the swelling goes down also makes me dislike it.. I don't know. I just keep having contradictory feelingsㅠㅠ lol I need to get my mind together.
The nostrils from below have become about 70-80% similar to my natural nose, and from the front, they definitely look wider horizontally than my natural nose. The bulbous nasal-tip feeling has also improved a lot, but there is still a lot of swelling, so I'm thinking this will gradually go down too~
Even now I really do feel relieved that I had it removed, but now that I'm at week 2, worries about the contracture phase are slowly creeping up. lol I really hope it doesn't come severelyㅠㅠ
If you read my previous posts, you'll know, but I spent 3 years just thinking about removal, and when I see people who are worrying about it, it makes me sad because it feels like I'm seeing myself from just 2 weeks agoㅠㅠ Because I know that feeling better than anyone.
I'm still only at week 2 and have a long way to go, but please don't look up too many bad posts online, and I hope you visit clinics yourself and make a good choice!
This was written without much structure, but I hope it helpsㅠㅠ Most other questions are roughly answered in my previous posts.
