Out of gratitude, I told myself I definitely had to post a review after the removal.. but with several things overlapping, it hasn’t been easy haha
First, about 12-13 years ago, I had my hump shaved down and silicone inserted around Sinsa-dong, but due to inflammation, around 7-8 years ago I had the silicone removed at a famous autologous dermis clinic in Apgujeong, and had revision surgery using septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and autologous dermis.
I already wrote this in another post, but during this removal surgery, an implant I hadn’t known about came out, and when I checked exactly, it was a product called Medpor.
In the end, my nasal tip had been extended with septal cartilage, heightened by placing ear cartilage on top, and both alar sides had been fixed with Medpor and maybe ear cartilage? That was the state it was in, and without knowing this,
I thought it would be a simple removal surgery, so after consulting the three major removal clinics mentioned in this community, I chose the place that gave the clearest explanation.
All three doctors said it absolutely would not collapse, would not develop contracture, and would be a simple surgery.
Because it wasn’t foreign material that had been inserted, but my own tissue, they said there was no possibility of inflammation, of course there was no reason for scar tissue to form, and one person even told me to just live with it as it was.
Anyway, last Tuesday I went in for removal surgery expecting it to take 1 hour.. haha.. but when they opened it up, the cartilage was torn in various places, and there were also sunken areas because the Medpor had been pressing on the cartilage.
After nearly 3 hours of surgery, they ultimately couldn’t just close it up, so they had no choice but to mince the existing ear cartilage and septal cartilage and use it to fill the sunken cartilage areas.
During surgery, they asked for my consent, saying an abnormal shape would result otherwise.. I couldn’t live like that, so I agreed. But they said the minced cartilage would feel almost like fat, so it would not feel hard or like an implant at all.
I’m going tomorrow to have the splint removed.. So far, the swelling is going down smoothly and it feels good haha
I really hope it heals safely without any additional problems.
Just now, while taking medicine, I accidentally bumped it.. and it hurts quite a lotㅜㅜ Please let nothing happen..
I thought about removal surgery for about 6-7 years before doing it, so I set aside plenty of time and had the surgery, and I plan to rest with absolute stability until the end of this month.
Also, at home I don’t even say a word.
I’m worried it might leave a scar or become crooked..
After I get the splint removed tomorrow, if there’s any additional information, I’ll post again.
Ah! Tomorrow I’m also going to meet the doctor who put in that Medpor.. haha On the phone, the manager loudly insisted that they absolutely never use implants.. ha.. I honestly don’t know what to do about this.
If they deny it until the end, I’ll look into it as much as possible and first report it for criminal fraud and professional negligence resulting in death,
and I also plan to report it to the medical association, the consumer agency, and the media.
If there’s any issue with this too, I’ll leave a post.
