I had liposuction on my arms, accessory breasts, and armpits! I’m 159 cm/46 kg, and according to my InBody test results I’m on the slim side, but only my upper arms were thick. Maybe because I’ve done traditional yoga for a long time, my muscles were also quite developed ㅠ I didn’t want arms that were skinny to the bone; I wanted to slightly reduce my upper arms, which were my complex, while keeping a healthy look.
Consultation: I had a comfortable consultation with the consultant in a friendly, almost friend-like atmosphere haha. The director personally did an ultrasound exam and checked the thickness of the fat layer all around my arms! After the ultrasound, the director explained the fat layer and muscle layer in detail.
Day of surgery: After changing clothes, I had a consultation with the director. The director explained the surgical method in detail and did the markings. When I got to the operating room, two nurses kindly guided me. After applying antiseptic to my upper body, they inserted a needle into the top of my foot, and it hurt a bit ㅠㅠ I was lying face down on the operating table when the director came into the operating room, and after seeing the director’s face, I drifted off to sleep. One nurse held my hand tightly until just before I fell asleep haha When I woke up and pressed the bell, they brought me porridge, so I ate it well haha. When I got up, I was wearing a compression garment. They said they removed 700 cc and showed me the plastic bag containing the fat directly! A little later, the director came and explained the overall details of the surgery, and I rested enough before going home.
After surgery: On the day of surgery, it didn’t hurt at all, so I stretched diligently! But from the next day through day 3, it hurt a little. Since the incision sites at the elbows weren’t sutured, I had to place sanitary pads inside the compression garment, but it was a bit hard because my circulation felt cut off ㅠ By day 3, no more bloody fluid was coming out, so I removed the sanitary pads, and it felt much better~ After that, there wasn’t really any pain; I was only bothered by a slightly stiff feeling and the feeling that my armpits pulled too much when I raised my arms overhead~ I could cook, do housework, and carry on daily life at home without difficulty. Whenever I had questions, I messaged the consultant right away on KakaoTalk, and she replied quickly haha
Suture removal (after 2 weeks): The director removed the sutures personally, and it really didn’t hurt at all haha. The director looked at the condition of my arms and praised me, saying I seemed to have stretched well haha. After 2 weeks, the bruising definitely faded a lot! However, the skin became irritated by the adhesive bandage over the incision sites and turned brown.. They said this part will go away over time if I moisturize well!
Because I have a lot of muscle mass, objectively the post-op difference isn’t dramatic, but I didn’t like overly skinny arms to begin with, so I’m really satisfied!! Due to the nature of compression garments, the armpits don’t get compressed well, so there is a little bit of scar tissue adhesion, but with steady stretching I can see it decreasing! Until day 7, there was a fingernail-sized area of scar tissue adhesion on the left accessory-breast side, but now it’s gone~ My size decreased by 3.5 cm, from 28.5 cm to 25 cm haha
* The photos are before surgery, day 9, and day 23~ * Tip: The hospital tells you to make the adhesive part of the bandage as small as possible, but it may not stay fixed well. Also, the bandage adhesive is too sticky and very irritating ㅠ So I left only the central gauze part of the bandage and attached it with paper tape sold at the pharmacy! You have to remove the tape every morning, and if you rip it off suddenly you can hurt the wound, so if you lightly wet it with a wet wipe to reduce the adhesiveness before removing it, you can take it off with relatively less pain!
