I'm writing this review as someone who's been through all kinds of shit with my previous nose surgeries. I hope it helps.
Nose order: original nose - contracted nose - final nose
* First nose 1. The nose itself was big. 2. Wide + bulbous, spread-out nasal tip A typical East Asian nose
Around 2018, I had filler 3 times The filler gradually spread > became a typical Avatar nose Only the glabella was high and the nose was fucking huge
I lived with that nose, and then the COVID era arrived When I took off my mask, I wondered why I looked so ugly and tried to find the cause Decided on surgery
At the end of 2021, at a famous factory-style clinic, 2.5 million won (silicone + nasal osteotomy + septal extension) For about a month it was so fucking swollen that I couldn't tell After a month, I estimate there was a brief slim-looking period of about 2 weeks, then it swelled again
Around May-June 2022 Out of nowhere, sudden inflammation occurred Nasal inflammation symptoms: only the glabella became red and swollen (couldn't cover with makeup, everything lifted) + pain like being hit with a pickaxe in the glabella The whole nose swelled up (the biggest my nose had ever been in my life)
I got oral antibiotics from the clinic where I had surgery, and the surgeon guessed it was probably due to stress. It improved after rest, but after that my nose would swell periodically Looking back now, it was always swollen (I lived thinking maybe it was because my original nose was big) I judged it as something constitutionally weak, so I prioritized stability above all / I went back to the surgery clinic about 2 more times - was treated like an overly sensitive patient
After swelling like that, one day someone I hadn't seen in a long time suddenly told me Your nose has lifted up (for reference, people who see you every day don't notice) At that time, I thought my nose was originally ugly, so I recognized the upturned nose as just an ugly nose and didn't take it seriously
Later, at the end of the same year, my nose suddenly started hurting like crazy The pain that started from my nose spread into a headache + a damp, foul smell reeked from my nose The whole nose was very hard + the entire nostrils were visible from the front When I removed makeup, my nose was especially red + repeated acne around the nose
In early 2023, I decided on revision rhinoplasty and went around for consultations Should I have revision surgery with silicone? Or remove the silicone and live without it?
Revision surgery with silicone was usually quoted at 4.5-5 million won by clinics / the first-surgery clinic quoted 1.5 million won, using costal cartilage They said they didn't know the possibility of contracture after revision surgery, and that's where I hesitated.
I had considered the aesthetic part as my first priority, but while going around for consultations, my nose lifted even more I realized the issue wasn't becoming pretty, but first needing to make a nose, so I decided on silicone removal + reconstructive surgery
The clinic I chose was 1. Board-certified plastic surgeon 2. Not factory-style, preferably a single-director clinic 3. Lots of nose experience Most clinics meeting these conditions had fixed prices + I had to give up more than 70% of the aesthetic part (couldn't even dream of an ideal nose shape)
Under those conditions, I did it at one clinic for 6 million won. (used ear cartilage, silicone removal)
Nose shape - a slightly lifted version of my original nose / it can't go completely back to the original nose
After nasal reconstruction, my nostrils/alar base were a bit large, so I had reduction surgery.
Reduction surgery review - reduced by about 1/3, not a huge effect. About improving my own complex / 1.2 million won
The photos are original nose - contracted nose - final nose.
Because of my nose, aside from the money, my life was fucking hard To those who were like me before, hang in there, it will pass.. ㅠㅠ Please let me stop messing with my nose now...
