I had surgery at ㅋㄴㅍ today..
For me...ㅠ
I’m a 30-year-old mom with a young child this year, and I do feel like it’s a bit late.. ㅜㅜ
I should have done it together when I got double eyelid surgery as soon as I turned 20, but because I didn’t, even at this age I still had lingering regret, so in the end I thought, let’s do it before I get even older! and went for it haha...ㅜ
The reason I started looking into rhinoplasty was that every seasonal change, I’d keep sniffling, and since I was very young I had chronic rhinitis..ㅠ
I was shocked when the owner of a cafe I go to often said they thought I had a cold all year round, and that comment ended up being the trigger...
Honestly, I had lived without even realizing I was sniffling;; Going around like this in these times (COVID), I thought people around me must have been looking at me without me knowing, and I felt a bit embarrassed about that....
That was a long introduction, right?
Anyway, for these and other reasons,
around July last year, I first visited ㅈㅇㅈ hospital. When I searched for rhinitis surgery, it came up right away. The hospital was large, there was an anesthesiology specialist, they did an allergy test before surgery first, etc., so it felt professional, and the facilities aspect was good. But I had traveled almost two hours to visit, and I was a bit disappointed that the consultation was guided more with a focus on cosmetic surgery than on functional surgery... Also, the surgical method(?) that didn’t really show up even when searching online, using donated rib cartilage... cutting it into pieces and building it up? was unfamiliar, so I got worried. I made a reservation, but canceled it to think more about it.
After excluding the amount covered by indemnity insurance, I think the amount I would have had to pay was around 1.6 to 1.8 million won, but since it was last year, I don’t remember well, so this part may differ.
Then second, around March? April? this year, I went to ㅁㅇㄹ Plastic Surgery to look into it, but since the doctor there was not an otolaryngology specialist, we set the functional aspect completely aside and only talked about the shape. The director explained the knowledge well, but for me the shape wasn’t the problem, so I thought, I see... and passed. Also, they seemed a bit busy with consultations. It seemed like there were quite a few people who came after watching ㅇㅌㅂ...! It felt like a place I’d want to go later to get filial-piety cosmetic surgery for my mom.
The last one was ㅋㄴㅍ in early August, and honestly......... I was ㅠㅠ an hour late to the consultation (took the wrong train), but they were really kind.. They even pushed my consultation back for me..
Since I had come from far away, I wanted to hold on to either the consultant or the doctor and ask everything I wanted, so I wrote down questions to bring, and they answered them all..
And although the director wasn’t extremely friendly, he spoke while smiling warmly, so I felt somehow reassuredㅠㅠ He also didn’t try to rush out during the consultation..
And most importantly, I’m really, really scared, so I asked about operating room CCTV, and they said they would record it with their own phone (must be deleted after surgery). I trusted that promise, so I personally requested it, and they personally recorded it for me.
I went to the surgery alone. After it was over, honestly, I just lay there with nothing to do and then came home...ㅋㅋㅋ Aside from the nosebleed, maybe because I’ve lived with a nose that was already blocked, not being able to breathe doesn’t feel that uncomfortable. I ate well too...
I had hump reduction without an implant, using ear cartilage and septal cartilage. Photo review... I’ll upload it after the splint comes off.
