Hello Since I was young, having a Class III malocclusion was a complex for me, so I had double jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring surgery, square jaw and chin surgery, at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. When I was in elementary school, I wore a jaw orthodontic appliance and had orthodontic treatment, so my jaw moved inward, but as puberty came, my jaw gradually started protruding again. As I grew up, I found it stressful that my jaw protruded so I couldn’t chew food with my front teeth, and that my jaw looked long. Now that 3 months have already passed since surgery, all that stress has completely disappeared. At this point, 3 months later, I’ve recovered so much that I’ve almost forgotten I even had surgery. Sensation has returned completely except for the palate, and I can now eat almost all foods except very tough foods such as beef jerky and dried squid. About 80-90% of the swelling has gone down. Until one month after surgery, it was so hard that I regretted having it done, but now I hear a lot that I look handsome, and chewing is much more comfortable than before, so I really think I made the right decision to have surgery. And most of all, since my complex is gone, I think the best thing is that I’ve gained a lot of confidence and my self-esteem has improved. I recommend double jaw surgery to people who are considering it for reasons similar to mine, but it is not a surgery to think of lightly, so I hope you think it over carefully and make the right choice for yourself.
