Since I was young, my bite did not align, and even after getting orthodontic treatment at a local dental clinic, my lower jaw still protruded. Then I looked for a hospital in advance, timing it with the day I left my company. My criteria for finding a hospital were 1. proper bite alignment 2. safety. It was important for the bite to align by setting the lower jaw back properly, but I also hoped I would not get side effects from this surgery. After surgery, I touched my chin with my hand to see whether I had sensation, and I did a lot of breathing exercises to clear out the general anesthesia medication. My face really swelled up like a balloon, but time was the medicine.
After surgery, the director came and said the surgery had gone well, and it looked that way. I am still very satisfied now. For 2 weeks, I only drank liquids, so the weight came off really fast.
When I look in the mirror, my jaw really looks tucked in. Now I am looking into nose surgery, but I don’t know anyone around me who had double-jaw surgery and then nose surgery, so it is really hard to do in-person consultations..
